  • The start sort of reminds me of the Question Of Sport theme tune.

  • Saw these last night <3 the lead singer is so fucking hot

  • @ikilledmacdre and the advert took up 5 seconds of that!

  • i dunno maybe its just me who thinks all this inde "rock"is stale and boring and about 3 years past its cell by date. and im not aiming this personally at this band im including the likes of the vaccines and many more in this spectrum. i want some swagger and confidence in my music the kind oasis and blur brought to the table im fed up of this tinny music. no guitar driven music feels slightly new or exciting apart from maybe pulled apart by horses or cerebral, the rest dull, and unimaginative

  • @ruggy19 I don't mean this with an edge or anything, but just out of curiousity, if "guitar driven music" is in so many words, dull, these days. What instrument (or touch pad, no offense to you cause i don't know exactly what your stating) makes music feel new and exciting? I only ask cause i hear statements like that a lot, and i'm sure it can be backed up/clarified, but I don't understand because I personally feel it's the talent behind the instrument, not so much the instrument.

  • @MikeLss1 nah that's cool. yes it does take pure skill to play guitar but it take pure skill to play bowls don't mean i want to watch it.I have no problem with guitar driven music really at all. my problem is there is no variety. most bands these days seem to bum this tinny libertinesque sound which now days is just over used. i want some big heavy riffs with swagger in my rock music again.

  • @ruggy19 i totally agree with you

  • @redwall4244 glad someone else feels the same

  • @ruggy19 I do like these bands but I do agree with you in a lot of ways. The Beatles, Oasis and Nirvana all had an edge that these indie bands kind of lack.

That said plenty of bands with that swagger are around. Foo Fighters, Black Keys. Mumford and Sons, Muse all have that edge and bigger sound to them.

Though I still enjoy the band because all those other bands have history under there belt. Oasis got there edge when they started going to awards shows and Liam started throwing shit.

  • @MrDan2593 yeah i have nothing against this kind of music but as you said perfectly they lack edge. this is exactly what i mean as well liam was a great front man one of the best of all time and for me the best since i was born ( 21 years ago)

yes black keys for me are the best band in the world at this moment in time. forgot to put them on my original post. even they're hip hop collaboration side project Blakroc was a master piece.

  • @ruggy19 :O I think you just made my day, The Black Keys are my favourite band ever, seen them 4 times live and they are incredible. I know exactly what you mean, i appreciate this music, and have seen The Vaccines live 3 times too, but i'd never call them 'Rock'.. they just aren't ballsy enough to earn that title. I dunno what you'll think of them, but i'm gonna suggest them anyway.. "The Mexanines".. uh.. lets say "A love obscene" Hope you like it :)

  • @TheBonbonKid haha thanks dont get that reaction from comments usually " fuck off" or "you don't know what your on about mate". Id never heard of them but i will sure be looking more into them now they've got much more swagger than most bands these days. people try and shoot me for saying this but i do like viva brother there track love is a time machine really hit the spot for me lol never really got why people hate them so much

  • More excited to see these than 2 Door Cinema Club!

  • they are far too underrated

  • the openeig guitar... sounds like the clash i fought the law... but I', not complaining :')

  • don't you hate it when the top comment is in a foreign language

  • @MrCheesemongrel IMAGINE WHAT LIFE IS LIKE FOR THE FOREIGN PEOPLE, IT MUST BE CONSTANT HELL

  • @musicynic totally agree with you, herd this all before,no feeling, no passion.

  • BLOWTORCH PONIES!!!

  • seeing them tonight woop

  • Hey they fuckin stole the intro to I Fought the Law! Great song by the way...

  • Comment removed

  • and people say guitar music is dead...

  • everyone hyped up too see Tribes, or wanting to see them.. seen them in October supporting The Kooks. mwahaha;-). can honestly say they're good though!

  • It's rubbish, it's dull and it sounds like hundreds of other bands. Listen to I Am Kloot and live a new life!

  • @andywebster1000 totally agree, just a little boring more than anything else.

  • @andywebster1000 Correct except I would have said...... FOALS!

  • @cosofthemetricsystem PREEEAAACHHH. I LOVE FOALS.

  • It's rubbish, it's dirivative and it sounds like hundreds of other bands. Listen to Cuckoo by I Am Kloot and live a new musical life!

  • really wish they were called The Tribes so much easier to find ha. epic feel good music

  • seeing tribes live :') supporting two door cinema club! :DDDDDD

  • @choccyqueen3 same! which one you off to?

  • @harharhero nottingham arena :) wbu? :)

  • @choccyqueen3 NewCastle cant wait! :)

  • Can honestly say i haven't looked forward to an album as much as Arctic Monkeys first, Tribes are bang on the scene!

  • bad dreams in merseyside?

  • Can someone plz put up the lyrics for this song becuz i cant find any.

  • TRIBES!!

  • Anyone else think one of the guitarists is dressed like the dudes in the clockwork orange movie? Wonder if that was intentional.. Wonder if I have no style and just don't understand the outfit..

  • @countingmoons That definitely looks intentional.

  • @countingmoons yes!

  • ALE GÓWNO -.-

  • CUTE

  • They are Objectively boring. i can prove it .

  • this band would be VERY dope if they changed their singing. they had me entirely hooked until they started singing, it just got too 90's.

  • I'm on the good side of youtube again.

  • 2012's gonna be their year

  • Occupy wall street

  • Muy buena banda

  • Muy bueno, se nota que les gusta The Cure ;)

  • Guitar solo sounds alot like white riot by the clash.

  • Thumbs up if u got the awfull bieber add!

  • Took me ten seconds to fall in love with it.

  • @ikilledmacdre Took me ten seconds 'till the ad came up.

  • SHASBOT

  • Sappho's great, but this is kinda middling. Perfectly enjoyable, just not weird enough to be brilliant

  • Ekhem... ktoś z Polski??? :D

  • ja:)

  • i like Dawes version more

  • Used to be a singer before i took an arrow in the throat

  • everything is awesome.. excluding instrumental

  • These lyrics are bullshit.

  • very cooooool

  • my day comes every.. day, nor!?

  • i cant find this on itunes!

  • 2 chord wonders

  • Why does single Muslim adverts come up on songs like this??

  • I fought the law .. but not the copyright law.. see what i did there :D

  • Oh god I Fought The Law isn't even The Clash song so no need of saying they borrowed the riff ...The Clash just made their own cover of it just like 13456 other bands, the melody might be familiar to them but there is nothing wrong with that.

  • shit live

  • i fought the law and another girl another planet, clearly dont know their music to know that their ripping off other bands

  • the clash - i fought the law and the only ones - another girl another planet... this band are wank

  • Aggressively generic audible beige.

Can't tell if this was supposed to lul me into a coma, or designed to soundtrack an ipod ad.

  • i think i am responsible for about 200,000 of these views......

  • my mom brought me here. cause the drummer came into her work (the hospital) cause he hurt his foot. i hope he gets better, these guys are great!

  • didnt the cooper temple clause used to live here ? :P

  • Seeing them live Dec 10th..winning!

  • i love these guys, dead exciting. no fucking about with art-school music and shit electronics, four good lads, with guitars and drums making fucking quality uplifting music.

  • @TheGrumpyOldTeen I was gonna tell you to calm down but i saw your account name xD And it's very true absolutely love this band!!

  • @TheGrumpyOldTeen exactly bro! gotta leave the brain outta music sometimes, so much of good music today is very intellectual, sometimes you just need good no-thinking-allowed guitar tunes..with oasis gone, these guys seem like a suitable replacement

  • @carlo88moe my thoughts exactly! fave band ever was oasis, love these guys too!

  • @TheGrumpyOldTeen Much as I like tribes, you're an idiot. Artists like Metronomy, Everything Everything , Tom Vek etc are making indie relevant again. Guitars are not.

  • @sollge i can assure that i am not an idiot. i own many electronic albums including 'english riviera' by metronomy. i might have been misunderstood, but i was just trying to say that sometimes music like this is all you need. good, guitar music. relevant or not.

  • @TheGrumpyOldTeen Did you listen to his voice? I dont think its a natural echo.

  • @rAWRAWization couldn't give a shit mate, still a great guitar band to me. by electro i meant slightly more extravagant effects than echo.

  • @TheGrumpyOldTeen their at newcastle for £20, do it! me and mates are too

  • NME brought me here

  • ee by eck, i do love this

  • NME AWARDS

  • I think I just found my new favorite band!

  • I'm trying to understand why there's a link to Cher Lloyd at the side, I'm not a troller but none of that crap can hold a candle to good old fashioned guitar music.

  • I'm actually so excited! They're supporting Two Door Cinema Club on their tour, and Metronomy are gonna be there as well!

  • @KindaClemiish IM GOING! can't bloody wait. -jizzzzzzz

  • he sound like Julian Casablancas

  • So does no one else hear I fought the law at the start?

  • @Jamesanglo Yes mate! Hear 'Where Is My Mind' in 'We Were Children' too.

  • @Jamesanglo If it's what I'm hearing he or someone is saying "One, two, three, four." Not sure if that's what you're talking about though.

  • @0MetalCat0 he means that the beggining of this song looks like the beggining of an another song (i fought the law - the clash) :p

  • @Jamesanglo totally do

  • @Jamesanglo After i read your comment i was like OMG yes lol

  • @Jamesanglo i hear more "we're not gonna take it," melodically anyways, but in spirit its more clash

  • @Jamesanglo to anyone that thought by one two three four resembled I fought the law, no. He means that beginning sounds like the Clash- I fought the law..

  • @Jamesanglo LMAO. It says 1,2,3,4 to que them to start playing the song.

  • @ChrisIsAJew hahahaha he means the riff in the intro sounds like 'I fought the law' by the clash.

  • @ChrisIsAJew Err no, I fought the law, is a song by legendary punk band the clash!!! if ur listening to this, u should know that

  • @MrCharlierowe He meant to ask if anyone else thinks the beginning of this song is similar to I Fought The Law.

  • @MrCharlierowe The song I Fought the Law isn't BY the Clash, it's a cover done by many other bands including the Clash. YOU should know that.

  • @SammyMCee you speak the truth. It was written by The Crickets. Although the version by The Clash is by far the best

  • fucking ACE at the Electric Ballroom on friday :D

  • I just don't like this song

  • @IJmuiden3 But then again you like Michael Buble....

  • Epic!!

  • Heard 'Sappho' on XFM in summer, now they're one of my favourite bands. Gonna be big!

  • nice song

  • who else thinks the start sounds like the clash i fought the law ??

  • @classicrock3000 the whole song sort of does but there both tunes so I don't see the problem ;)

  • The cure for the new generation

  • @jackframe2 -)))

  • Yes, this borrows the riff from the intro of "I Fought The Law", the version recorded by the Clash although originally it wasn't their song, so I don't know what happens on the songwriting credits.

  • FUCK EVERYTHING ITS ALL TRIBES FROM HERE ON IN!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I Fought The Law...

  • love love love

  • Best indie rock band for years. Shite like VivaBrother, The Vaccines etc giving the genre a bad name.

  • gosteei ;)

  • they're gonna go mainstream and everyone's gonna like them and I will hate the world, once again, for ruining a great band.

  • ahh, gostei :)

  • LOVE THIS

  • So..there is such thing as good indie. TRIBES.

  • But can someone please explain to me...What the fuck is with all the -indie!- bands lately?! Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good indie song, but come on, enough now!

  • @KeyLimePieYeah

ah come on now..would you rather listen to a good indie band that actually can sing and play actual instruments or some bubble gum pop auto tuned sensation?!! roll on the indie revolution i say!!

  • @noisettes92

OK, there's no need to resort to -the p-word!- now! I was just saying I'm missing other kinds of rock, that are not...you know...-indie!-

This song is good though. -listen to it again!-

  • no one will probably read this, i'm writing it hoping that at least one person will.

i'm a singer, like a million other people on YouTube.

but i would love nothing more than to have a decent following on here, and some feedback so i can improve and have a chance to show that i can be different.

please can you just take a minute to check out my music and maybe even give this comment a thumbs up so other people will see.

please help me make my dream come true. thankyou!<3

  • /watch?v=yBhE3tFjRCs / NEW MUSIC TO TRIBES VIEW !!!

  • Tribes and All The Young are the future or British Music... FACT

  • @jrobertson123 All The Young are complete gash.

  • @seanyonkers whatever you say bud

  • indie rock might not be dead after all,...

  • Reminds me of the Clash!

  • @mrtictac94 don't compare them with the clash!

  • @uuchoob The Clash were quality! This really does sound inspired by I Fought The Law though.

  • Making the most of such an amazing band before MTV ruins it.

  • hey, viva brother? are you paying attention? this is how you make proper indie rock music!

  • such a solid song! :D

  • when my dad cums

  • @DummDiddlyDaDaDa That sounds so fucking wrong, you help him cum?

  • @DummDiddlyDaDaDa when your dad cumed he got you.....

  • they were so good in newcastle last night!

  • Is 'when my day comes' implying death ?

  • awesome

  • oh. crap

  • i can't wait until october 10th comes.......=))

  • eeeehhhh.......

  • HORRIBLE. lol

  • Fantastic!

  • if their debut album will be so good as this singles i'm sure they will become new rock stars!

  • BOH!

  • Pre-ordering the album as we speak. TRIBES.

  • they will be big in the future for sure!

  • <3
