The only way to have real net neutrality is to break up these vertically integrated monopolies, such as the telephone and cable companies. No company should be in the business of running cables, building any infrastructure, and selling any kind of service or content, at the same time. that should be the very start.

then we need to truly have a standards based internet, with NO PROPRIETARY protocols such as DOCSIS. Nobody should be selling us a "speed." that's another big problem.
