  • interviewing kids who havent seen the real world yet was absolutely ridiculous.

  • @feverpitchxx so trueee! :P

  • @feverpitchxx In context it was highly appropriate.

  • are they over the close down this week the julia gillard has taken them to court

  • @CastleSnowflake not true.

  • I won't ever again be able to regard QANTAS nor its once-wonderful ads like these ones, in the same former warm & fuzzy light. Reason : the disgraceful behaviour of Sat 29 Oct by that nasty little imported irish mick Alan Joyce, & his bloody-mindedness in grounding the airfleet. Joyce reminds me of those gangsters Corrigan/Reith in their 1998 attempt to destroy the MUA. Joyce seems OK with the scenario of Asian scabs hired in place of Aussie professionals & attack-dogs to enforce lock-outs.

  • @colindominy whats the MUA

  • @colindominy And the union thugs holding the airline hostage you don't consider thugs? Qantas has to deal with 17 unions and 35 awards. You can't have unions disrupting the public, and denying Qantas revenue, by calling a strike, and then in the last seconds before the strike was called, call the strike off. Qantas did the right thing by grounding the airline. There's been no union thuggery or trouble since. THe unions will end up pricing themselves out of the market.... then NO jobs for Aussies

  • funny english :)

  • shut up

  • this vidéos is very beautiful, and the autochtone boy is singing very good, iaorana - good morning from tahiti- "vive l'Australie"!

  • i love how they start with our ancestors, the real owners of this land, the aborigines, that solo by the aboriginal boy made me cry <3

  • As soon as the young Torres Strait Islander began his pure, unadulterated and clear tongue, I was reduced to tears...suddenly I remembered my childhood and innocence from seemingly so long ago, when we hadn't yet been corrupted by the cruelty of this world and when things were still simple. And it's re-awoken my love for my home country - I'll never hate on it again ;

  • i know the girl at 0:07-0:08. i met her at my school today for harmony day! she's so down-to-earth and she's just awesome :) and, i LOVE this version! best version i've heard by far :D

  • its me:)

  • If it had'nt been for the "sheila" I met and married I would have been a ten pound pom, been twice, last time with her. She's gutted we never went. Love Oz. the ad makes me wish I was calling it home.

  • thing about it this show that australia is a good country .we will welcome everyone

  • Yes, here we can see all that we may lose becuse of those dam airplanes killing the earth. Good commercial, harsh but good.

  • @ThePannKaka1 Yeah, let's go back to being cavemen and give up all our medical advances as well.

  • @davidnosmoke Haha, this video is silly and they dont give a ass about the nature, thats my point.

  • I'm so sad

  • this is by far mi fav version of the song. i loooove the beggining. its very good wat they've done

  • made me get chills

  • I know people in this

I am a member of the Australian Girls Choir

  • australian girls choir and the boys choir arent as good as sydney childrens choir, sydney childrens choirs recording sounded too pure so they overlapped it with the other choirs recordings

  • OMG did u see the 3rd guy His my friend from primary skool. GO XAVE!!!!!!

  • great song and all but just wanna say those kids dnt know shit about living elsewhere so there opinion means little to none and I cant see why they put that crap in? especially the bit about koalas and kangaroos, I mean like so what we have unique animals - there shit animals too - go to saffa mate. but nice vid anyway.

  • I love the generous shots from the Kimberley in there. One of my favorite places in the world, wish I could go back. Respect to the pilots and guides of Purnululu National Park.

  • What language is the first kid speaking?

  • @madzane94

Um aboriginal? What else would he be singing? o.O

  • @Metalstrix Actually, he is singing in the kala lagaw ya language of the torres strait Islanders.

  • @Metalstrix Well, he's not signing "aboriginal" that's for sure. He's from the Torres Straight.

  • @davidnosmoke Lol you got me there. Yeah he's from the Torres Strait, but do they speak Torres Strait or Aboriginal?

  • @Metalstrix You were right 11 months ago. He singing in a Torres Strait islander dialect, Kala Lagaw Ya.

  • @madzane94 Aboriginal language.

  • It's outback in it's nature?

whats with the Masonic looking G at 0:10

  • Awesome

  • i absolutley love this ad especially the aboriginal singing, it sounds so good!! i love it cuz i am australian and i want to be a pilot for qantas when i grow up. i defenitly think it should be our national anthem!!!

  • My home, my heart, this is where I belong, australia

  • They played this when I was landing in Sydney from Johannesburg!

  • this song shows how beautiful Australia is

  • australia is cool so is the U.S.

  • Who are the directors of this?

  • I also know Tyus

  • If there's a direct flight from my hometown in Indonesia I would use Qantas

  • @SimonCouelle Plu-ese. They ARE a children's choir being directed to sing a song technically perfect within their vocal range, and abilities. Since when does any member of any choir do individual, emotional performances? And "patriotism"? You can't be serious. These are all young Australians. They are "patriotic" by default.

  • @SimonCouelle They are just kids. I remember singing patriotic songs as a kid and really not giving a shit what it was about it was just fun to sing and go cool places and perform.

  • Tyus the lead singer goes to my school (:

  • anyone know which tv show showed this? i need it for a uni i need it for a uni assignment

  • This particular "video" came from the "making of" program run by Ch7 called "Coming Home".

  • Tyus is my first cousin! We grew up together and he is like a big brother to me!! We so rock in this commercial and it was fun filming it to!!

  • it's a qantas commercial, what did you expect??

  • Enjoyed the whole commercial (something you dont get from others)...

But when the plane came into view it just felt like it was "just a commercial".

  • i sit next to tyus in claass (:

  • Makes me proud to be Australilan :)

  • I love this advert - then with the vocals at the end with the Qantas A380 ... I just had goosebumps

  • i wish i could visit Australia soon.. this made me cry.. =(

  • @klodset09

Ya it would be totally worth your time :P

  • omygosh... the music is so BEAUTIFUL!!! and the videography of the terrains... it's wonderful! :D

  • I'm in Australian Girls Choir and my friend is in this!!

  • I love this Qantas commercial, "I Still Call Australia Home" and can't wait to become an Australian. Nice Job Qantas.

  • I've always loved these ads but this one is just pure magic. Tyus makes it...singing in his own language. This is the best representation of our multicultural country ever. It is a very moving thing to hear this song sung in one of our native tongues not just english. Wow!!!

  • I loved it.. made me cry sooo much!!

The little boys are soo cute!

  • when i saw this, i cried for some reason...

  • This is a Great Commercial, ah.. when will i ever get to go to Australia again... even though it's just a 7-hr plane ride..

  • Thanks for sharing this in HD! What a great ad, love everything about it. Rich

  • where can i get the full song??

    +greetings from Indonesia+

  • Is that Ningi Beatty at .08 ?

  • Nope, that's in Queensland

  • i'd be quite happy for this to be our national anthem!! i prefer it!

  • Wow that's impressive. In fact I am that impressed that I have got tears rolling down my cheeks. Thank you David for posting this up.

  • I just watched this again after receiving an email with your comment in it. It still brings a tear to my eye. You should have seen me at The Boy From Oz with Hugh Jackman at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, when the Australian Girl's Choir positioned themselves all over the auditorium to sing I Still Call Australia Home. Tears were streaming down my face as it was so beautiful, live. I never get sick of hearing this song, and the kids just do it justice.

  • That reminds me when I was getting ready to volunteer for the Commonwealth games in Melbourne. All the volunteers got to see these guys perform this song.

  • gives me shivers down my spine. I want to be one of them someday...very soon!!

  • Moving. Makes me teary-eyed and I'm not even Australian.

  • mee too..such a brilliant tune ! probably one of those songs thats iconic in explanining a nation!

  • OMG thats my nephew Tyus Arndt.. i love you baby boy

  • Oh he's incredible isn't he?

  • Agreed!! Such a brilliant ad.

Thanks David for uploading this ;)

  • @early1morning No problems :)

  • I love this new version - we should have more indigenous children and culture on our tvs - this is great.
