the system in place now is what's killed amateur boxing, if you get a sizeable lead you can just run and maintain the lead. there is no need for combo's or knockout's if you can just tap the guy with 1 or 2 punches and score a point. It is almost sad.

BTW building a lead n then maintaining happens in pro boxing too,and other sports too.

@gameboy010203 Amature boxing is more like fencing now where you just throw 1 punch and score He´s talking about that. Look at amature videos from before the roy jones vs korea fights and this amature bouts.

But back to real life, I am a high school student who has Competed and gone around the country for sparring. So yes I do have some first hand knowledge on the matter.

At that, boxing is a sport, but it is a COMBAT sport. Combat implies fighting, boxing is about fighting. You fight, roughly, technically, gifted whatever, but you fight.
