sorry for double posting. (just spreading my thoughts and pointing out the obvious) Anyway - we are less likely to be killed on land than killed in the ocean because - we are born on land and the land is our natural element - how many things on that we did on land. so no sht of course we have a higher risk of dying in the sea because we dont live in it. we might play around with it, live near it, need it, play in it - but we rnt born in it. especially with all those hungry preds that live there.

Unfortunately U.S. Law is too screwed up to make people responsible for themselves. Sea World didn't force that lady to be retarded and swim with K-I-L-L-E-R Whales. She volunteered to do it, and she suffered the consequences. It is a tragedy, but I agree that it should be against the law to keep such majestic animals in captivity in the first place. Next thing you know they'll have shamu riding a bicycle in a pink tu tu... I hope he bites'em!

No one should get a damn dime when getting squashed by an animal. The trainer KNEW that she was putting her ass at risk in the first place regardless of what Sea World did. If Sea World had a Great White shark show would I swim with the shark as an employee? Hell no! Why? Because I use my God given common sense, just like that trainer should've done before she went swimming around with mammals that eat meat, and obviously get pissed off. I say you're doing that job at your own risk.

I would agree that animals born into captivity should be looked after, but there is no need to born any more into captivity. Conservation should be done in their back garden! I'd rather watch a nature documentary than go see an animal in a cage. Anyone who says that they love animals who visits and believe that zoos should still exist is clearly not thinking straight.

I really like this video, he says it as it should be. Animals should not be treated as pets, especially the wild. Domestic cats and dogs, ok...those can be with people I think. (But don't kill them because they weren't adopted so spay and neuter!!) Animals and mammels that are aggressive and are known to be, like whales, tigers, lions, lynx, monkey's, apes, bears, wolves, coyotes, etc. Leave them be! Let them have a life that they deserve, dangerous and all in the wild and prone to prey.

I'm down for animal sanctuaries where they are hurt/mammed/ etc. and need to be treated in order to survive. And no, if animals were taught well, and responsibly, they could be reintroduced to the wild and have a fulfilling life. I feel bad for the girl who died, but I suppose she died doing what she loved, training. It was a freak accident but animals are unpredictable.

@wolfsrainkiba4life Sure,however, I think in this situation where she was obviously trained and had experience, I doubt she would've done anything that would've put herself in danger, at least intentionally, and it was obviously something very unfortunate and sad. What angers me is when the animal is blamed when really, are they capable of conciousness enough to control their instinct? It is a very fine line humans have with animals, and that line should be respected.

actually, killer whales (or orcas) they are badasses of the ocean- they eat sharks, seals, seabirds, (if they get the chance) dolphins, practically any fleshy creature that swims-if u want, look em up. I read it from a big book of sea food chains. as for the whale - it was deffinitely sick of being a side show, arguated and pissed off, and ready to attack anyone in the crowd, vengeful, sick of the naive trainer, getting rid of her. just goes to show how u cant domesticate every animal on earth.

You are right. Wild animal shouldn't be brought in from the wild just to satisfy mans curiosity! We have documentaries for that. Thank you Sir David Attenborough and others for allowing us to see animals in their own environment without being disturbed. It is a beautiful thing, but an animal in a cage doing tricks for humans is sick. It's time we got rid of zoos, they serve no purpose but to depress animals and put a smile on a humans face. If you want to conserve, conserve in their territory.
