fail.....it is so damn slow....use KMnO4....it's much better oxidizer....I use the rations

3/2/1  KMnO4/AlMg/S,but you can try it with Al.....:)

It is critically important to exclude sulphur and any acidic components from flash powder. Sometimes a few percent of bicarbonate buffer is added to a mixture to ensure the absence of acidic impurities. Modern pyrotechnic practices call for NEVER using sulfur in a mix containing chlorate salts.

A ratio of 2 units potassium perchlorate to 1 unit Dark Pyro Aluminum is closer to stoichiometric, and may produce a louder report.

It acts as a binder, and Sulphur can be bought at Lowe's under "Garden Sulphur"

Actually this is a very dangerous fp type, the use of boric acid is highly recommended !!, to learn more about the reactive properties between kno3 and Al check wiki, it can be the trick to hold hands in one piece, nice vid tho +5
