Oh I loved those puffs..still do lol The all sorts eww nope can't go those. Never liked the fig newtons...date squares are good and I've had things with fresh figs in it. Way different taste then the fig newton thingys. This was a good topic for sure. : )
I think you hated the chocolate marshmallow because of the red crap they put in there. I LOVE the coffee filled chocolates. I hated (as you know) the Big Turk. Ick. I hated Junket too. And Jell-o. Ick. And, I hate Hershey"s chocolate. Never mind it looks like x lax. My sister ate the xlax and regretted it. Not me - I went for the good stuff. - roc
A cake called "monkey brains", and chicken :P There was also Washburn Fancy Old Fashioned hard candy. One of the flavors that comes in the tin always grossed me out so bad.
real interesting ! I¨ll be thinking about it !!! how can anyone not like fig newtons ,(figs are very different to dates actually) my Mom used to make junket as well but I liked it... take care !!!
My father loves All-Sorts! He had them when he was a child and still eats them. I hate them! Don't like licorice. I will do a video, but have to do some thinking..lol My mother made Junket desserts all the time. As I remember, I liked them. I think we have all mistaken the choc x-lax for real chocolate!
Something I dislike is soda (pop, soda pop). I haven't had one in years. When I was young I hid the fact fairly well until I let it slip at a birthday party when I was about 8. Wow, was I teased.
I positively despise fruit cake (like at Christmas) or ANYTHING with even a touch of coconut in it. Yuck! I would die on a desert island.
I remember the chocolate ExLax, but never snacked on it. I guess that's a memory that has stayed with you when nothing else did. :-)
Being teased about something when you're a wee one, even a soda slip, can really leave a mark on your future. I can relate. I never liked fruit cake as a child, but don't mind a piece now at Christmas. Thanks & big hugs!!
Oh, me too Pappy! My folks made me sit at the table alone hoping I would finish it...and forgot about me! Mom came into the kitchen to turn on the light as it was getting dark...and there I was...liver and all! xoxo
oh I forgot, I wasn't fond of string beans either thou I like em now... Same scene..
sitting at the table long after everyone else... I tossed em under the table when mom wasn't looking and said all done... Then there I was under the table eating them off the floor... hairballs an all
Aww...poor little Pappy. But ..the question was what thing that most kids liked the taste of ..but you did not...as in I guess sweets? Hairballs...lol...
licorice= yuck pickles= nope peanuts= yuck peanut butter= nope peppermints= yuck I do like peppermints now though. My favorite junk in the world would be chocolate covered marshmellows hehehe
I remember those wax bottles which had coloured liquid in them. I bought them because they were a penny and gave them to my brother. Poor kid. Here chew on some wax.
Custard and jelly, curry crisps, hedgehog crisps, turkish delight, banana splits, chocolate oranges, toffee and caramel, these are a few of my least favourite things to paraphrase Mary Poppins.
I was the kid that liked everything that other kids didn't: brussel sprouts, liver and onions, swiss chard, beets, broccoli, parsnips, etc. but I've never liked nor been able to eat PEEPS. uggh. to this day to see them in the store, they look so pretty but uggh. and now they have them for all the holidays; not just Easter.
The beady ones are my favourite lol. We can share a pack then, I used to hate jelly and ice cream when i was a kid, would not eat bananas or boiled eggs but now yum yum lol.
Okay Kim..we'll share the licorice allsorts...lol. I never really liked bananas either..and now..will only partake once in awhile. I know their good for you..but...it's the texture I think. Thanks & Hugs!
i had a friend from canada ...she use to make us nyla bars? i can't remember the name...but i loved them...as a kid i hated pizza and ice cream...now i love pizza but so-so on ice cream...i love fig newtons when i was a kid i called them frig newtons!!!!!!!!!!!
i liked everything you showed. except the exlax haha. I see why you are traumatized now. yikes! I cant think of anything as a kid that I didnt like. I was a really chubby kid and loved everything!!
Hi Chris, I do have a sweet tooth and it's cost me a few extra pounds and some additional dental work over time...lol. Well, a couple of things come to mind. One is candied apples. They never looked appealing to me as a child. The other candy everyone seemed to like that I didn't were those sugary peeps. If I got them in my Easter basket I'd pass them on to my brothers.
I had never had Easter peeps till recently and I don't like them either. Do you mean candy apples like the red shiny ones at the carnival? I love them!!! My sis does too. Thnx & hugs!
Yes, I never could figure out what type of red candy was used to coat the apple. I love taffy apples though. As an adult I justify eating them by telling myself there's a healthy apple under all that taffy...lol.
do you know what blancmonge is? i don't know if it's an English thing or not..but it's like custard, usually strawberry flavour and you eat it when it's gone cold and it sets with this thick skin on the top,,,,UGGHHH i feel sick now just thinking about it!
I absolutely hated licorice of any kind and I still do. And I loathed and despised spice cake. It's disgusting and always made me sick, but my family loved it and Mama made it all the time. Still makes me shudder if I smell it or anything like it. ROFL@the ex-lax chocolate confusion. OMG! My cousin and I ate an entire box of the stuff at my Aunt's house thinking it was chocolate. You can imagine what happened. Oh, it was explosive! And we were just sick as dogs. Lol. Great topic! Hugs :-)
I do remember Junkit - didn't much care for it - but don't know now as I've not seen in around, in what? 20-30 years - do they still even make it? LOL
JELLO i so do not like JELLO the smell of it still makes me sick even if its got vodka in it like shooters it just gags me..LOL yes it was junk. I do remember it.
I will have to think on these. I know I didn't like bananas (got sick after eating one) but I have such a bad memory I will have to consult my siblings lol
he loved peanut butter or jelly in other things but no way jose would he eat them together. man what a bummer cause nothing is easier than to make than a pb&j for lunch :)
Lmfao. No more niking chocolate.
