RockCrock (Ganondorf) vs Green Mario (Mario)

Does anyone know what mario did to recover? I mean he uses the fireballs somehow, plus whenever I use the tornado spin it doesn't seem to do much...I'm just curious, since I use Mario and Dr. Mario. Also, could I do the same strategy with Dr. Mario?

@samtheman264 When you do the tornado spin you need to hold down and jam B over and over to get it to actually lift you, and you need to do it at the height of your fall, before you start moving left. The fire ball should be done near the end of a double jump because it sort of prolongs a vertical climb, then the cap gives you an extra inch on the screen, finally ended with the triple jump. It sort of still works with Dr.Mario, but his pills don't work I don't think.
