The US didn't use a M16 like rifle in WW2. We primarily used the M1 Garand. Which is nothing like the M16 except it fire bullets. The M1 Garand fired a larger heavier bullet, it used 8 rnd stripper clips as opposed to a 30 rnd magazine, the body was made of wood ans opposed to plastic, and finally the M1 Granad was only Semi Automatic as opposed to the M16A1 which was auto, 3 rnd burst, and semi; and the M16A2 and newer which is 3 rnd burst and semi aoutomatic.
