I'm all in favor of recognizing immigrants' right to citizenship/nationality in my country, as long as they do it LEGALLY and without corrupting the system even further. It is NO SECRET how Haitians despise Dominicans. It is NO SECRET how the few Dominicans who venture into Haiti to settle have ALL HORROR stories to tell, the unyielding racism and hate. We don't want a Rwanda or Burundi within our borders nor an apartheid South Africa 15 years down the road.
@Certeroooo Stop preading propoganda. No f-ing horror stories coming from Dominicans visiting or living in Haiti. Bullshit. Make your point and stick to it, but don't lie.
PROPAGANDA my ASS. That is not what the local media/HAITIAN media has reported for YEARS...Not counting anecdotes on radio and tv shows as they're not printed matter. ASK THAT to those who endure the racial epithets, stares, etc, OR the "No Dominicans allowed" in hotels..BUT the stories of relatives of many Dominicans victimized by crime there -like one murdered in Haiti a few months ago- all say racial hatred was clearly and fiercely spewed out.PROPAGANDA my ASS. Deal with it.
I'm sure that I'm a lot of educated/well-read than you. Please show me some articles, links and such and we're good. I'm far from bias. I don't give a fuck what you fools on the island do to each other. I try to live righteously.
Dude, cut your bias. It is clear you don't live in Haiti, or here in the DR as a matter of fact. The mainstream media and even internet outlets in the US rarely reports all that happens in this island, but we who do live on it and have first-hand reporting know better. Current Haitians' struggles in the DR are juicier stories that do get reported, but nearly 100 years of Haitian racial hate and attempts to takeover/ethnic cleansing are overlooked. Bullshit? Read a book, moron.
Moreover, the dignified response of most Dominicans was firm/determined while Pierre was alive: we will NEVER yield to the Haitian agenda, EVER, as our ancestors didn't under repeated Haitian onslaught. Why would we then in their 21st century version? As immigrants, Dominicans are penalized under other countries' immigration/nationality laws, and WE are expected to PERVERT OUR OWN so ALL illegal Haitians and progeny land a Dominican ID card/passport three minutes after trespassing our borders?
The only thing "Dominican" about this woman were the ID papers she managed to squeeze from a flawed system in a country she HATED with determination, the very same system the likes of you are trying to dismantle for the massive takeover of Dominican by hordes of unyielding, despising Haitians who only see land and resources and and entire people to dissolve away from the only land they can legitimately call their own...Haitians have been at it for over 200 years .
