  • You get a triple dose with the ark opening: a face melt, a head explosion, and a guy shriveling up like a raisin. It's like a gore connoisseur's dessert sampler.

  • DON'T LOOK AT IT!

  • Be under no illusion, Williams is todays Mozart, Bach, Handel.

You'll be dead when its recognized, but, it will be.

  • 3:31

  • 3:31

  • @RIZZFTW XD you're from Characters in 'real life' by Spazmonkey343 right?

  • I wish I could thumb this up and favourite it, but my blood froze over...

  • Actually, the "novelization" had that part of the inscription included a little more prominently that said do NOT look at, around or near the Ark, lest you 'see the truth' (and be...well, you SAW the film!) This music conveys the absolute terror something like that would inspire. Talk about truth in advertising!

  • @TheAltair4 like he did with jurassic park

  • This is Westboro Baptist Church meeting God.

  • :head explodes:

  • The part 3:45 is music of the wrath of god!

  • 3:30 - and the Nazi screams like a girl. I love that part. Then his face melts. Love that part too.

  • The part at 3:32 is especially mysterious how the death angel gets them!

  • The fear of the lord got them! He,he,he!The bible said anyone that would touch it would die.God's brightness and goodness was just TO MUCH!

  • when that dudes face melted that scared the crap out of me

  • Knight: They chose...poorly

Indiana: Wrong movie, I'll see you in the third one

Knight: Is that the one with the aliens?

    Indiana: No

    Knight. Thank God

  • ANCIENT EGYPCIAN LASER BEAMS

  • "Don't look Marion, keep you eyes shut !!!"

  • "i got a picture of the ark right here"

    *looks at picture*

    "Good god!"

"mmm yes that's just what the hebrews thought"

  • this scene chills me.

    the music too.

  • @unitedcommrockss

    "all"

    lol watch the third movie

  • It never fails, there's always some jackhole that thinks they can use something like that for power. Wether the Ark of the Covenant, Pandora's Box, the Spear of Destiny etc. All it will bring anybody is death. But then, if no villains tried to use those things, we wouldn't have such fun adventure stories. :p

This is a great track, very spooky. I have been looking for it for a long time, so thank you for the upload. It gives me chills everytime I hear it.

  • its not really a miracle, its more of a curse.

  • @Pozillaify considering the Nazis all die it is a miracle!

  • Imagine the shit that would happen if someone actually opened it in rl

  • @MICHAELandJELL0: Question is my friend would anybody be so daring or insane to do so? Hmmm

  • The face melting part scared me, what about you youtubers?

  • @legoguy800 still does. i have the 4 pack of all the movies and i love watching that part xD

  • @legoguy800 OH YEAH! i was a kid when i saw this on video. my grandpa had the whole cassette tape videos of the trilogy, talk about old school, ehh.? everytime i viewed this scene, it frightened me to death, even though i loved horror movies, this scene belonged to a horror film!!!

  • @SpiderBoy992 Yeah, this scene does kind of belong in a horror film. lol. In fact, in order to avoid getting an R-rating Spielberg was forced to tone down the graphic violence of Belloq's head exploding by superimposing a wall of flames image over it in the post production process.

  • @TheAltair4

I know it got away with a hard PG rating. So the spirits's images can destroy someone if they look at them right and that's why they shut their eyes? someone should do a funny version where the Nazis looking at the ark as they are watching Battlefield Earth saying "It's Beautiful" then suddenly they scream and we see clips of BE then suddenly they do the melting exploding thing for being a bad flick

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yeah, either that or Leonard part 6. lol

  • @Johnlindsey289 in 1 Sammuel in the Bible, it was stated that God smote those who looked into the Ark, and Dr. Jones knew it prob from all the Religion Henry Sr. taught him and thats how they survived.

  • @legoguy800 it was AMAZING!

  • honestly, whenever you hear John Williams composing something, how can you not know it's John Williams? He can make the music to a cereal commercial sound epic.

  • this music perfectly illustrates when john williams is a master.

  • Literally every time I hear this my hair stands up and I get goose bumps! Best soundtrack ever!

  • I know that (quite) everybody identifies the main theme of Indy with the Indy-phenomenon...but as it comes to me, this mysterious music of the 1st Indy is my secret favourite, because that...deeply mysterious music fascinated me from the first moment on...until today!!! You have to looooooove it!!!!

  • 4:45

    Best part of the music

  • this song and makes me scares

  • 3:40 Angel of death fries Nazi's with lightning bolts, faces melting, heads exploding, a huge pillar of fire reaches up and splits the sky like the finger of God himself...

  • It's so beautiful! *face melts*

  • @fairiedragon999 hahaha! best part!!

  • @fairiedragon999 i got something melty and creamty to put on your face

  • @fairiedragon999 Actually, Belloq's head explodes...it's Toht's head that melts (and Dietrich's head shrinks). To avoid an R-rating, they put a flame bar in front of Belloq's head....they used a pair of shotguns to destroy the false head. Toht's head was mostly gelatin put under heat lamps and Dietrich's head had vacuum tubes in it to suck it in.

  • john wil

he do star wars too ??

  • Yeah. He composes most of, if not, all of George Lucas' and Steven Spielberg's films.

  • good to kno

i love indy and starwars btw

  • who doesn't?

    :)

  • John Williams is a brilliant composer.

  • @mrlegocollector2 amen to that ==> Indiana Jones, Star Wars, ET, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Close Encounters, Superman etc.

  • @davi55x he did all lucas films except american graffiti (aka, all the Star Wars films), and all of the spielberg films except for duel, twilight zone: the movie, and the color purple. that's not all, of course, he also did Home Alone, Harry Potter, Superman, and much more.

  • @davi55x Yeah he does do star wars.

  • @davi55x Pretty sure he did that music from harry Potter, too.

You know the one I'm talking about; everyone does.
