  • What amp are you using?

  • @Midnightgroover: Thank you for your comment! It's a 30W Kustom KBA30 amp plugged to my sound card's auxiliary input.

  • Es el mejor cover de la canción que he visto, acá en youtube, sólo superado por Les Claypool.

  • The coolest cover of this song ! Nice video, nice bass player and nice basses !!

  • I really didn't like the bongo sound, too much overdrive for a slap tone. I much prefer the Steinberger, it has a really clean sound, very articulate.

  • the Steinberger that I owned, an L2 was one of the best basses that I have ever played...remarkable clarity and unbelievable sustain....that was 10 years ago, and I still think about that bass. :-O

  • The Steiberg sounds more fluid, and with better sustain. BTW, love the video!!

  • bongos fucking rule

  • the bongo REALLY hit the Claypool tone man. awesome job

  • ThaT was reaLLy GOOd reaLLy chEers from AMSTERDAM suCces

  • damn, You're man maded from groove!:D

  • To answer your question, I much prefer the Stienberger tone to the Bongo, but fantastic job on the whole thing!

  • You're playing is absolutely fantastic.

  • the steinberger xl2 looks more like a funky lap-steel than anything

  • Very cool playing. That Bongo has that great tone man!

  • Gracias por este video. ¿Hará usted más de éstos? . Excelente.

I've watched this one about 10X and I can't get enough, well done my friend, well done indeed.

  • You are world class musician. Thanks, you are the best of de the best.

  • Awesome video, didn't know the steinbergers were so good for slap!

  • Probably my 2 favorite bass models, I love "unusual" designs.

Very nice playing as well ;)

  • How do you like the Steinberger? I have been without a bass for a year and want a new one. I have limited space and honestly always liked the Steinberger look. I am a modern-art clutter free, no frills sort of guy.

My last guitar was an Ibanez and I liked the fast neck. How does the neck on the SB feel? And BTW: I love your playing. You are an inspiration! Thanks! Best, JP

  • Fantastic playing on both basses!!!

Also, thank you for posting the knob settings. After watching your videos, I bought a Bongo! :)

  • awesome!

  • Just like Lagspike99 said, they sound the best together. That was great ;)

  • Amazzzzzzzzing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey, Alvaro! Awesome job on the song, man! Combining both track in the video shows how precise you played all that stuff! Awesome:)

Well, IMHO like Steinberger way way more.

  • Love em both but kind of leaning taward the Bong myself Would to here through a standard Fender Jazz

  • The Bongo has a nice jack-of-all-trades tone, but the Steinberger has a better slap/pop tone in my ears. More "piano like" lows, kinda growls, and like all others say, it has slightly more highs - all that's my opinion!

How good the playing is is a silly question, an easy 5er.

  • wow que bajazo ese steinberger me podria informar su precio en pesos colombianos...ojala algun dia pueda tener uno asi...congratulations.

  • yes finally a vid with the Steiney!!

nice im happy to see you have your dream bass!!

  • insaneee video!!!, awesome performance as always and that steinberger is one hot bass, can't wait to see you on more videos with that baby :)....

  • Damn... I love'em both! The Steinberger has some crispy highs, but that Bong has some funky tones itself.

  • dang the highs on the steinberger are crisp and clear as hell!

  • I think you've got the right idea with this...they're both phenomenal basses, and since you can't have just one...got to have both! =D Great playing as well, 5*.

  • I added some technical info to the video description thanks to your post, man. Thank you for your comment! :)

  • Sound great!!! Personally I like the XL sound better but I think it can be eq'd more close to sound like it isn't it?

  • Why do the neck bend? Don't you have a whammy bar on the Jauqo?

    5 stars!

  • the steinberger sounds better to me..it has a nice hollow sound (which sounds really nice for slaping/popping)..bongo has more of a thick sound

but then again thats just my opinion

all props to you, man! 5*

  • Something about the recording isn't right, you dont really get that full potential out i guess. Sorry but none of the instruments sound really really nice, the Steinberger was the best. Maybe it's your EQ or maybe it's just the way you preferr it.

  • Maybe im just wrong, anyways the best sound was when you played them together.

  • Personally I quite like the Steinberger a bit more :-)

  • very funky my man!
