I really didn't like the bongo sound, too much overdrive for a slap tone. I much prefer the Steinberger, it has a really clean sound, very articulate.
the Steinberger that I owned, an L2 was one of the best basses that I have ever played...remarkable clarity and unbelievable sustain....that was 10 years ago, and I still think about that bass. :-O
How do you like the Steinberger? I have been without a bass for a year and want a new one. I have limited space and honestly always liked the Steinberger look. I am a modern-art clutter free, no frills sort of guy.
My last guitar was an Ibanez and I liked the fast neck. How does the neck on the SB feel? And BTW: I love your playing. You are an inspiration! Thanks! Best, JP
The Bongo has a nice jack-of-all-trades tone, but the Steinberger has a better slap/pop tone in my ears. More "piano like" lows, kinda growls, and like all others say, it has slightly more highs - all that's my opinion!
How good the playing is is a silly question, an easy 5er.
I think you've got the right idea with this...they're both phenomenal basses, and since you can't have just one...got to have both! =D Great playing as well, 5*.
Something about the recording isn't right, you dont really get that full potential out i guess. Sorry but none of the instruments sound really really nice, the Steinberger was the best. Maybe it's your EQ or maybe it's just the way you preferr it.
What amp are you using?

@Midnightgroover: Thank you for your comment! It's a 30W Kustom KBA30 amp plugged to my sound card's auxiliary input.

Es el mejor cover de la canción que he visto, acá en youtube, sólo superado por Les Claypool.

Sound great!!! Personally I like the XL sound better but I think it can be eq'd more close to sound like it isn't it?

Why do the neck bend? Don't you have a whammy bar on the Jauqo?
5 stars!
peanarchist 2 years ago
the steinberger sounds better to me..it has a nice hollow sound (which sounds really nice for slaping/popping)..bongo has more of a thick sound
but then again thats just my opinion
all props to you, man! 5*
