It's always been like that in the black community. It does not take a thought process like that for racism to exist--racism will ALWAYS exist. The truth is that there is a qualitative different between a black person's life and a white person's life. While they can be very similar, minorities will ALWAYS experience some sort of discrimination that a majority would never be subject to. Contrary to your claim, it is recognition that the lives of black people and white people in America are inherently different that creates racial understanding.
