@xxPanteraxxx lucas was a joke when he first joined also liverpool were a better team than real Madrid when he joined, so its not surprising they didn't get him
@xxPanteraxxx Liverpool would have overtaken R madrid back in the eighties if it wasn't for shenanigans. we also never had the backing of a fascist dictator.
The rulers of this country were rather pissed off by Lfc's success. Liverpool fc is indisputably the greatest club in the world, no-one comes close.
lucas man.. what a great player.. having been playing attacking midfield for his entire career in Brazil, to come to the toughest league in the world and adapt in a new holding midfield position and achieve the best tackling rate. Great job! YNWA
@LiverpoolfcEPL thats not exactly saying much , with the donkeys we have in midfield adam henderson spearing downing kuyt maxi and its not as if lucas is the new Xavi if i turned up with my boots at anfield id have a shot at being one of our key players , we are a laughing stock at the minute , we play rubbish negative football and as much as i love king kenny he has bought utter shite and wasted 100 mil on championship players , not good enough for our great club.
@EricCartman1st Enrique, a championship player? He is EASILY one of the best left backs in the premier league. Suarez, a championship player? He's EASILY one of the most admired forwards in Europe. And Henderson quite clearly has potential to be a huge player for england. Man City played "rubbish negative football" in their first 18 months with a bunch of new players and manager...now look at them. Laughing stock? We're in a cup final & challenging for a top 4 spot. Moron.
@User123788 since when is Liverpool football club about finishing forth ? , and if you think Henderson will ever be a huge player for club or country you need your head examined , hes a coward of a player and goes hiding never demands the ball , is that potential, Rangers let Adam go on a free and Kenny signs him , and anyone who pays 35 mil for Carroll has a lot to answer for , Carroll 35 mil Henderson 20 Downing 20 Adam 7 plus add ons = 10 you cant justify that kind of reckless spending .
@EricCartman1st lucas is not the new xavi...he is a totally different player in a totally different position. xavi is all about picking out passes and creating goals. lucas keeps it simple and is one of the few best holding mids in football right now.
kuyt is world class, he was (unfairly) put behind herderson and has been in a slump but after all the fantastic years he has given us are you really going to write him off after he has a bad half of a season???
@10YNWA10 look im a die hard lliverpool fan and you cant honestly tell me that Kenny as much as i love the guy hasnt bought rubbish , and you,re the only person on the planet to refer to Dirk Kuyt as world class, Kuyt even at his very very best is nothing more than a very hard working donkey , just look at his first touch its so bad his next is a sliding tackle , no skill, no pace , poor finisher , terrible touch , awful passer of the ball , where are all these fantastic years , he is a DONKEY
@EricCartman1st if he is no good, why did he start in the WC for the finalists???
kuyt is not great at anything, but he is very good at everything. terrible touch? im not sure where you are getting that from, and he has pretty good control. he is a good finisher as well, and has scored many, many big goals for us in the past. he was a key part of the WC finalist team for a reason.
@10YNWA10 look go back to sleep, Kuyt good at everything ? you got a great sense of humor, the fact that Kenny would even consider playing that excuse of a player Henderson ahead of him says it all , i have got great respect for Kuyt because if every player had his attitude and worked as hard football would be a far better game , but in terms of class and ability he is only a DONKEY , and that dutch team were booed by their own fans for trying to kick Spain of the pitch and their negative style
@EricCartman1st the negative style was used against spain and is not typical. it is how you sometimes have to play against an opponent of that incredible quality. look at how madrid play against barca: normally they play fantastic attacking football, but against barca they play a stoke city-esque style, because they have to to be able to compete. holland is very good, which is why they made in to the finals with a perfect record and beat brazil and uruguay
@10YNWA10 if he is no good what is he doing playing for Holland? well 35 million for Carroll a complete donkey who a blind man can see is no good, Lucas and Ramires are donkeys and play for Brazil ,Wallcot is playing for Arsenal and England hes a donkey , Downing donkey and so on, and saying that Holland beat Brazil to make a point for Kuyt is rubbish, Brazil are just a big name now they only have one player who is world class Robben and Van Persie are class Kuyt is only in for hard work DONKEY
@EricCartman1st walcott is a fantastic player who would start for us in a heartbeat. lucas is probably the best or 2nd best (arguable between him and parker) holding mid in the PL. ramires a donkey? not sure if you watch much football but his ball control is one of his greatest strengths.
as for carroll, may never justify a 35 mill price tag but still a very good player who is getting out of his slump. he created both goals for us against united in the fa cup and then scored against brighton
@10YNWA10 thats just the problem , i do WATCH football, not listen to the rubbish talked by BBC and SKY mickey mouse pundits , Walcott is nothing more than an incredibly fast headless chicken, a top athlete but no football brain whatsoever , just look at how many times hes in great positions and messes up the most basic pass , and flicking on a long ball because you,re 6 , 4 dose not count as creating goals ,getting out of his slump ? , even a stopped clock can get it right twice a day hes awful
@10YNWA10 look stop talking rubbish , holding midfielders , what does a holding midfielder do when you go one nil down ? a top midfield player should be demanding the ball , be well able to pass it and join in the attack if you need a goal , get stuck it when you,re defending a lead etc not just play the most basic sideways pass and stand there waiting for Gerrard to do something brilliant , thats why Liverpool struggle to create anything, Alonso could see and play a pass anywhere , Lucas cant
@EricCartman1st alonso is better than lucas at attacking but not as good at defense. he dives in more than lucas and is a bit more wreckless in his tackles. lucas is a bit more sturdy and reliable on defense.
and you dont exactly see alonso making those gerrard-like runs into the box...its just not his style of play
@10YNWA10 no he is just a far far better footballer than Lucas and way more of a loss to us , why do you think Gerrards performance went down hill as soon as Alonso left , Gerrard is not a world class central midfielder in terms of passing and retaining the ball , what he is , is a player with an amazing ability to do something special and a great finisher , but you cant finish something that is not started , ie he is still making those runs just the donkeys in midfield cant get him the ball .
@10YNWA10 if you look at when we were at our best and challenging UTD it was because Alonso demanded the ball from the keeper , full backs center backs etc and could always turn look up and play Gerrard or Torres a ball , and if a full back made a run he could hit a 40yrd cross field ball and drop it on his toe, Lucas will roll the most basic nothing pass to Johnson turn his back to play and think his job is done, Hence Gerrard has to drop deep to pick up the ball and is no danger doing that.
@EricCartman1st im not denying lucas isnt as good an attacking threat as alonso. but he gives us much more defensively. alonso lunges in often and gives up bad free kicks. luas just doesnt do that. lucas is much more controlled in his challenges. at the holding mid position, you want a solid anchor, and lucas gives jst that
@10YNWA10 Lucas is out injured and we are just as strong defensively , we dont concede many goals because we have a very negative defensive style away from Anfield, and dont commit many players forward , UTD dont play with an anchor man , they want a passing midfielder who can build up play , City didnt take too long in dropping De Jong and playing a more offensive style , they are both 20 points + ahead of us, this anchor role is bullshit having the football is the best defense ie barca
@EricCartman1st barca have a very unique player in sergio busquets. he defends very much like lucas, because he is VERY good at defending and does not dive a lot like alonso or pepe, and he can also pass the ball very well. doesn't come surging into the box, but he doesnt have to. he is just a fantastic, one of a kind player.
lucas has gotten MUCH better at passing btw (although i have to admit, not sure if he is a better passer, just attempts less difficult passes, or a combination of both
@EricCartman1st i think that if lucas was still around, we would be much better able to committ players forward. players like downing, bellamy, adam, kuyt, henderson would have that extra sense of security that may just allow them to get into the box / bet to the touchline more often. don't forget, when lucas was healthy gerrard was not, so the fact that we are about the same defensively may be misleading. lucas allows others to realize their attacking potential
@10YNWA10 look while im glad we have won a trophy and are giving the FA cup a run, i think you cant deny that finishing 20 points of the pace in the league is just not good enough for Liverpool, we have spent 100 mil and have failed to replace Alonso and while Suarez is a fantastic player he is never going to score the amount of goals Torres did , and Adam, Henderson, and Downing are not at the level we need to move forward , they are no better than Rafas dodgey buys , we are not improving
@EricCartman1st i think our situation right now is very similar to the situation city were in last season. they barely qualified for the CL, and now that the same players have had a while to gel they are going to win the title. downing has had a bad season so far, but against cardiff he showed that he can be a fantastic player.
i think we may never replace alonso, but thats ok. lucas is world class, although his style of play is different. united never replaced keane or beckham, but they didnt
@10YNWA10 the situation at city is completely different than ours , they bought huge quality players who have delivered and who were far better than ours , you cant compare Downing to Silva or Henderson to Toure , They are miles better , and dont forget that city can correct any signing they might get wrong overnight because they have endless funds, do you really think our owners are going to give Kenny that kind of money to spend again ? we havnt got a prayer of challenging for the league
@EricCartman1st toure and silva are world class, but they are really the only 2 (kompany is world class as well, but he was there already).
i think a big reason our midfield players havent felt the freedom to attack as much is that they dont have the reassuring presence of lucas backing them up. they are less willing to commit themselves forward knowing that they could be leaving charlie adam as the last line of defense before the back 4
@EricCartman1st have to...they used different players and a different style that worked very well for them. adam has shown flashes but i would agree that he has disappointed overall.
henderson is young and has potential, but was bought as a long-tern gerrard replacement, and i dont think he is ready to be a consistent starter yet. maybe a loan move to a mid-to-bottom club would get him some experience and confidence
@10YNWA10 look all credit to Lucas he took awful stick when he first came, but he has improved a lot and is worth his place now , i just dont like the way Kenny sets us up , we have a history and tradition of attacking passing football and i think if you paid for a season ticket at Anfield you would not be happy watching that kind of football , and whatever way you dress it up he has spent 70 million on rubbish and plays negative, say what you will about UTD but you will be entertained .
@EnzoCheLatino no he was an attacking midfielder.. this is what Rafa had to say when unveiling him "I am looking forward to seeing him score goals for Liverpool in the future and [we] believe he has the mentality and the character you need to do well in England". And if you scheme through his videos at Gremio you'll see he was given a more attacking role
@g67kj alot of people did but there was alot of people that saw potential, it was mainly because when he arrived we had an amazing midfield(alonso gerrard maschirano probably spelt wrong) and compared to them he didnt compare
