Its wrong to assume that there will be a pre-trib rapture because God wouldn't put his church through the tribulation, but I haven't look at scripture enough to know if I believe in pre trib or mid trib. I think that the Holy Spirit will remain on earth and hold back the anti christ and will also dwell in those believers that become Christians after the rapture. Guess I'll have to read 1 Thess again since I didn't catch anything about that the first time around. Anyway, thanks for the insight.

Um God wouldn't put his Church through the Tribulation? Ever hear of the Isrealites? Or the early Christians? Or anyone else persecuted for Christ sake? Terrible things happened to those people but what do they have in common? Christ Loving Protection, WE as a body of Believers may go through the Tribulations to build Faith but be under the protection of God. However I don't take a stance on any of the ends Tribulations haven't studied to indepth to make a decision.

Also to add to Post Tribulation, There may very possibly be a great falling away by people that have the preTribulation point of view since they didn't prepare to go through the entire Tribulation. Good Old saying Better safe then sorry. I would rather be ready to Go through the Tribulation then to have a false hope of pretribulation. but again I don't have a strong opinion on this.

London: Found you the answer! The Holy Spirit is holding the Anti Christ back. The Holy Spirit will stay on earth in order to seal the believers during the tribulation. Don't know when or if the Holy Spirit leaves at all, since there is still a possibility for those who don't get the Mark of the Beast after the rapture to recieve salvation. Also, there will be Jewish witnesses going around and I believe that in the past, the Holy Spirit helped the apostles etc to spread the gospel.

London-From my understanding, I believe that the Holy Spirit is holding back the Anti Christ in the verse in Thess that you brought up. The church will stand up and call him out and then that rapture will happen and the Holy Spirit will go with the Saints to heaven. The Holy Spirit will never leave the earth. "Though I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there". The pre-trib rapture doctrine that says the church is taken (thus the HS), is a NEW false doctrine, historically. 1 Thess shows we will see the Anti-christ. When no rapture happens, many many souls will be tormented thinking they are forsaken of God, unsaved. It will nearly destroy them, this horrible lie. If only people would not CLING to it, they would be okay.

she mentions the great falling away or apostasy.. paul said in thessalonians that Jesus will not return until there be 1. the falling away an 2. the [antichrist] is revealed, but that there is one who is preventing him from being revealed and until he is taken out of the way he will not surface, so Jesus won't come till after that. anyone have any ideas as to who it is who is holding him back?
