i have a question:

a pic has sky and foreground - land with a building sticking up into the sky. I want to darken sky (rectangular marquee tool to select most of sky and feather 200). The i am stuck on how to cut into the selection. I know i have to use polygonal and click around edge of object sticking up into the sky, but where do i go after???? around the object and then where? bottom of image? across the middle?
