  • bet they had to call a fire truck to get it down

  • notice how they mysteriously never show us the vault where they store the arm and chip?

  • Spider robot, spider robot, does whatever a spider robot does...

  • its like a hardcore hex bug!

  • I CAN RUN UP THE WALL FASTER THAN THAT

  • Boston Dynamics man.... Just WOW!!!!

  • so... you made a giant spider? awesome!

  • i saw like that 1 yesterday when my neighbor plunge it to the toilet bowl

  • Boston Dynamics = Cyberdyne

  • If these guys can make this, that means the USA army has already 5 times more advanced models.. scary..

  • @TheRealSlaveZero

Actually, the US Army purchases novel technology from people like this. Haven't you seen the Iron Man movies?

  • @kalel1290 That's actually my point. I probably used the wrong choice of words. If the footage was made in 2006 and it was an awesome model which was surely later sold, they surely got now better ones with weapons and different kinds of tools.

  • @kalel1290 and iron man.. I've seen the 1st one but you could have used some other argument. makes you seem kinda gullible and/or naive..

  • @TheRealSlaveZero

LMAO I was joking dumb ass... makes you seem kinda gullible and/or naive.

(BTW they mean the same thing captain redundant)

  • @kalel1290 oh really? -_-'' I wasn't even attacking you at first... And I won't do it now cause I don't have the energy for you. Anyway, gullible is a, let's say "upgraded" term of naive, so get educated:

    thefreedictionaryxcom/naive

    thefreedictionaryxcom/gullible

  • @TheRealSlaveZero

lol you say you dont have the time yet you write giant paragraphs to explain yourself.... idiot. Go away.

  • @TheRealSlaveZero They actually get sponsored my DARPA!

  • I NEED THAT "HEY GUYS LOOK AT THIS IT CLIMBS WALLS" lol lame way of saying it

  • V2 looks like facehugger o_O

  • the first one looked like he was lifting it up.

  • I really like the dynamics. Great work!

  • terrosrists walking bomb

  • the only useful thing comes to mind - program it to climb a tall tree and then make photos of naked women in the windows

  • A freakin' Runaway (1984)! :)))

  • I think skynet changed their name.

  • 1.26 I jumped

  • ahh but will it blend?

  • i saw this one ted . c om ... they followed how the gecko moves and falls.. really inpsiring.

  • That thing it uses to climb. When are we going to use it for a legit Spidey suit?

  • Wow!!!! The New World Order and Homeland Security Policed State of Amerika is really going to suck.

  • Six-legged gecko robot is watching you.

  • REALLY COOL!! They can be proud of it !!

  • They should give it glider wings so it can hop from building to building...LIKE BATMAN!!!

  • running bomb^^

  • The rise of Skynet. Beware peoples!!

  • oh shit scientist are insatiable, now humans can be fucked from the ceiling too, the unique secure place till now.

  • @tierchen616 bubbles could make a decent buck w one of these in Sunnyville rescuing kitties

  • Hell yeah! gecko feet:)

  • Stairs? Grass? Uneven terrain?

  • yeah bring it robots THIS IS A SPARTAN KICK!!! LMAO

  • I want to work for Boston Dynamics!

  • that's some amazing shit

  • Very cool !

  • bombchu

  • all these things remind me of that Tom Selleck film, Runaway. Scary Film.

  • its a robotic koala-sloth-thing

  • It's like a MegaMan enemy.

  • why?

  • i have this eerie feeling that they are trying to reproduce animals

  • and everyone laughed when i started preparing for the robot apocalypse

  • let's hope they grow to realize that the military is always evil and one should never work for them.

  • This thing would only be useful to hold a camera. All its small moveing parts couldnt hold bullet proof armor and there isnt a gun that could really fit on it. Maybe the SWAT could use it if it had cameras to see through walls.

  • @Nicholasdude187 Or maybe its a concept.

  • @Nicholasdude187 It would be perfect for a bomb!

  • @thingk89 Except we could just attach a bomb to the building an not spend millions...Im saying this could be a thing we dont have currently. Bombs are easy and we dont need to make robots out of them.

  • what the fuckgn shti ass mutherf ucknd shit bitch cnuntass why dont my fuckn coment shjow up anymoreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • quick !!! grab the bug spray!!! before its to late...

  • Just shows, man is thousands of years away from emulating nature.

  • Devise a suction cup model for smooth walls.

  • god created man, man created robots, man destroyed god, robots...

  • Brilliant, but very creepy!

  • IT'S ALIVE!!!! I wonder what it eats.

  • @Trykan360 Tax dollars.

  • @lazzer408 lmfao.

  • robots in case animals go extinct haha

  • I think the tail pushes it over once it reaches the top of a wall

  • I wonder what the tail is for??? will this thing replace gecko's in the future??? O_o coz it sure looks like one...

  • @ChairylPhilipp what the fuck i want a 6 legged GECKO

  • what the fuck has science done?!

  • CYBERDIINE

  • what da hell is that thing??? Boston Dynamic's brilliant work but freaky at the same time.

  • because bipedal upright robots won't be enough overkill already when the machines rise up, we make smaller, creepier, more deadly ones that will be able to reach us by crawling up into our bombed out, barricaded apartments and offices or drop onto us from above as they lie in wait upon the ceilings of our sewers and subways and fallout shelters we've taken up as a bases and havens.

  • @TheHevquip they might as well just cut to the chase and start building robots specifically designed to kill people and destroy everything right from day one.

  • fuckin robot Apocalypse coming up

  • looks useless.. oh wait!..oops never mind , yeah it's useless

  • A efficient way of getting cats out of trees?

  • I would love to invite people over to my house, and everyone's eating quietly at the table, and then suddenly, you see this fucker crawling on the wall. Everybody stares.

  • Put a sponge on it and you have a simple way of skyscraper window cleaning

  • No doubt in my mind that Skynet/Terminator shit WILL happen...

How can we trust engineer/scientists ? The same way we trusted people responsible for our economy ?

  • @F3FisGoodforYou Yeah screw those scientists who are trying to cure caner. I don't trust them.

  • @F3FisGoodforYou

It's not the scientist I'm worried about, it's the military and politicians that will eventually use these things. I bet within 20 years we will have robots patrolling the streets "keeping the peace".

  • @DeathSlayer2 You are spot on with "Keeping the peace." It's code for civil rights campaigner and conscientious dissenter control.

  • RISE AGAINST !!!

  • WHERE IS TOM SELLECK?!?!

  • @californiadajatt You meant Massive Dynamics. :P

  • i guess future will look so creepy

  • they look like they'll leap at your face and impregnate you with a larger, acid-blooded version

  • make large gripper things for humans!

  • world war 3 could be the last

    human against the Robots

    Peace

  • Wow This Is Something Out Of The Movie "Minority Report"

"Oh Firefighter Peaches Got Stuck In The Tree Again Please Get Her Down"

"Don;t Worry Mame We Have A New Friend On Board To Fetch Your Furry Friend"

"Ok Guys Send Up The Borg"

  • @heyitsmejacob well how useful are cockroaches? thats like making a robot soldier fat. so you kiss my ass

  • Looks like it's made of legos lol

  • Nice Video! Now quit being stingy and let me buy one.lol

  • would hate having to kill that huge bugs.

  • cool ... but... that thing looks too much like a big cockroach

  • hahahaha....truee trueee :D

  • genius!

  • WTF?

  • the future sniping system!

  • It has claws that went in to the white buildings crumbly wall.

  • hows it holding itself up other than supporting legs?...spikes aren't that strong enough to create friction unless it was pressed down with enough force from its host position..which to me would like it would fall off if it was to stamp down onto the vertical concrete

  • looks like it's using a Vander Waal's Force application, similar to the foot of a Geko. It sticks without being sticky because of an intermolecular attraction.

  • If I saw something like that in my house I would, in this order:

    A: crap myself

    B: run for the Mossberg

  • Yeah... that robot could rescue kitties from trees.

  • Yes, and you can do better?

  • I guess.... no.

  • exactly

  • @tierchen616 The Kitty would/did starve to death before the robot reached it.

  • il en chie un peu

  • we're developing androids and their pets too

  • that is so fucking FREAKY!!!

  • how it holds there???? vacuum??

  • just give it a camera and a gun and we are all fucked

  • @79expand Dude, it could be remote controlled, and used for both espionage and political assassinations. It could be called SCORPION, or the Death Bug. If both sides of a conflict came into control of these devices, there could be complex waves of remote assassinations, with ordinary citizens sometimes caught in the crossfire. The robots might have some sort of cloaking technology, that allowed them to slip past any security.

  • @79expand Then, somehow, ordinary citizens manage to hack into the remote network, and somehow control the robots. This could lead to passive users witnessing state assassinations, or to psychopaths using the robots to go on killing sprees.

  • @yerk3 Something like that has already happened. There were a group of insurgents that managed to receive video from a UAV some time ago, as it's completely unsecured. Controlling it would be a different matter, though.

  • @79expand We are all fucked already...

  • @79expand Hooah

  • i have a wind up toy of that

  • ur wrong, ur nuts.

  • Comment removed

  • I like how the tail is actually useful :) It's cute.

  • this could be the future of spy tech

  • Great stuff man!

BTW at 0:45 you can see the effort it takes.

    It almost touching.

  • how is it sticking to the building wall?

    Vanderwalls forces?

in the closeup, i thought i saw a lot of small velcro-like hooks - but i'm not sure what i was looking at.

(note: i'm not talking about the one that was climbing the carpeted surface. I'm talking about the one climbing the white building)

  • Looks like its using the same principle as how spiders climb walls. lots of little hairs on their feet. What it seems to be are lots of little metal hooks embedded in probably a silicone foot so that each "hair" can hook into the wall individually to maximise grip

  • robot-army

  • great for cleaning walls

except for the noise.... would be annoying if it makes such loud noise while cleaning

  • way to dam slow

  • hey this guy has an idea on how to make it faster! let's listen!

  • lol, go ahead ricefarmer I am all ears!

  • LOL hehehehe That's one of the funniest retorts I've seen in months. Cheers.

  • in each segment, the robot is using a different gait.... nice work. man, if I saw a a giant scorpion/spider thing climbing up the side of the building like that ;p I'd call the police

  • good job. i was hoping for lot better. where's my robotic dishwasher boston dynamics? just kidding

  • Put some guns on that shit and you have a VERY nice /5killstreak bonus for CoD4:MW

  • Excelente!

  • great job boston. now, make it faster!
