If both sides of a conflict came into control of these devices, there could be complex waves of remote assassinations, with ordinary citizens sometimes caught in the crossfire. The robots might have some sort of cloaking technology, that allowed them to slip past any security.

Looks like its using the same principle as how spiders climb walls. lots of little hairs on their feet. What it seems to be are lots of little metal hooks embedded in probably a silicone foot so that each "hair" can hook into the wall individually to maximise grip
