  • 40 miles to a charge, shit i'll buy the electric car that takes you 3000 miles on a charge, anything less is a waste of money, if your interested in gas milage, but a 1964 VW beetle, you have a 36hp rear engine that will take you and two of your kids from connecticut to florida with only one stop for gas along the way! and it'll beat that VOLt probably in a drag race, how cool is that!

  • save me money while i go to the strip club i drive a dodge ram 1500 mag so yea gas is a issuse but i don't want a lil put put thats whats my Plymouth voyager is for thats right i drive a dodge ram and a Plymouth voyager but the voyagers got a tv and a xbox 360 in the back so buzz off! its my 2nd bed room ok?! its my happy place on wheels! sad part is its ues for storage now....(booohoo)...now i can't play my xbox cuz my aunt a stiff and won;t let me play on the 68 inch LCD!... i have issues...

  • Cmon, only to the house? They need to make it able to ask you where you want to go to save petrol. And make the system simple. Then Ill consider this thing

  • If the battery is completely drained, it holds a more powerful charge longer. Same with laptops, ipods, phones, ect.

  • Yes I know that, just wanting them to increase the possibilities of other places, other than the home.

  • i want this car to burnout!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • The guy on the right is a fucking penis.

  • I'd buy the Volt if the gas cap were replaced with a Flesh Light.

  • ha thats gotta be the most convincing spam comment ever!

  • what if say you park your Volt and leave it sitting for a little while with a low battery and you dont plug it up. will the generator recharge the car while you are away? or does the car actually have to be on and running to charge the batteries?

  • I don't like the changes GM made to the Volt's body.

  • QOW: probablly more battery life without using gas to recharge

  • I can't believe that piece of shit volt can only go 40 miles on one charge when the Tesla can go over 200 miles on one charge. Pathetic.

  • yeah but the tesla only sits 2 and is way way way lighter. its not meant to be an everyday car. you can drive 800 miles in the Volt if you want. after 200 you are stranded in the Tesla

  • wow the one thing that would make me buy that volt hands down would be if it acctually does what it has been said to do that and 20-30 grand price tag.

  • how much is the volt going to cost???

  • it makes me laugh that people dont know what a dodge daytona is....come on...its one of the greatest cars ever built!

  • First to market first to reap the rewards, maybe they have something better in the works but noone knows about it yet. So they are like 6, maybe 7, years from market.

  • Another thing I thought you should have pointed out about the Volt is that it is a far better looking car than any hybrid or econo-box currently sold.

  • The volt has some cool design put into it. I like it kinda.

  • i would want it to be sporty and be fast from 0-60 but that isn't gonna happen because this car is about fuel economy

  • I have heard that if your commute consist of freeway time even if it's under the 40 mile all electric range the gas engine will have to be used to allow you to get up to freeway speeds. Is this accurate?

  • Like they said, the gas engine doesn't even drive the car, so I would assume it's not.

  • It does say that but it doesn't say at what speeds it could mean like surface street speed i doubt if you are going any speed it will go for 40 miles just like a car the faster you go the less mpg you get

  • i dont wanna sound stupid but what if u live in an apartment? im not sure the volt fits in the elevator to my 3rd floor room... :( how will i plug it in? also it would be interesting to find out how much the battery ends up costing when it burns out. i hope this car is worth it though i really do...

  • The question...

Not really related to the Chevy, but does concern it..

Could, at gas stations, we get a plug in, to charge up all electric cars! So instead of having to go home to charge it up, we paid maybe half or a quarter of what gas prices are!

  • I only want it to be faster then a prius =)

  • I have a crazy thought. Matt you think someone would never have to buy gas for the Volt. i think its actually diesel but same difference. what happens if the gas goes bad in the tank of the Volt? you buy gas and literally never use it. i could see that happening to some poor moron i just do. i dont think it will be common but it could happen to someone. that said i like the Volt i would consider buying one

  • i think gm should have a none electric ls9 v8 option

  • Mr. Angry, try and keep up with me at the Garage invitational!! Anyway, this Volt has to have alot of gadgets and tech. stuff in it. The people that will buy this car are tech savvy kind of people. Basic CD player and radio will not sell.

  • i agree with all you are saying. and it will only work if we use electricity from renewable sources.

we have to go to the system where every house is a mini power-station, with sun roofs and wind generators. when you are producing and not consuming you sell your energy to the grid and vice-versa. in that way you would balance the energu price. i'm not sure but i think the state of california has a system like that implemented.

  • i agree with mike. it's a hybrid. but i think it will be great at emissions and consuptions when compared with a sh1ty prius or a civic hybrid.

i don't agree with the "if you use it in a 40mile range" because if you hook it up with a 1.3 diesel engine to give power to electric motor, i bet it will do a lot of miles with lower emissons and very very good mpg in one tiny fuel tank. Maybe more miles than a convencional car.

  • I would want the volt to coem with alot of power in out of the store so that i dont have to rechagre it when I drive a meter

  • replace that engine with a diesel, a nice sound system, and make it doesn't electrocute anyone when driving it in the rain.

  • is the Volt comming to the euro market & to the UK especially.

    thanks

  • Chevy volt needs to have a kickass sound system that way you don't feel gay driving it down the main street. but over all this could be some thing good to invest in for me, i drive 100miles daily for school and it could save me loads of money then my K2500 4WD V8 on crusie control does.

  • first thing....finally not an ugly Hybrid car (though its not the prettiest thing in the world)And though this is asking for much a Volt SS with manual would be kickass

  • I think they need to develop a sporty 2 door Volt SS with a hybrid system featuring a 1.8 or 2.0 Turbo gas engine. The system could work in a way to have power when needed in the gas engine, but still get 40 or so miles on a charge. AWD or RWD would work wonderfully, but in all honesty, a rear wheel drive coupe would use less gasoline and electric power than an all wheel drive coupe.

  • the gas in the volt only charges the battery, it doesn't turn the wheels in any way...so what with a 2.0 turbo, ur gonna charge the battery faster?

  • unless that's a full window for a roof, I want solar on it to help recharge while out. I like the look though; nice car. lots of options would be nice, since there arent any hybrid luxury cars.

  • I would like to see a quality interior, no blatant cost cutting. Also standard gauges instead of tacky digital displays like in a lot of hybrids.

  • even the ev minivan will probably out sell this thing

  • dodge's ev1 is gonna shit all over this thing,

the volt has no chance especially if chrysler release the ev1 before the volt, which seems very possible

  • ASK THEN WILL THEY KILL IT LIKE THE EV1?

  • oh noes the electric car.. i bet those jack asses in cali regret turning down the bill to allow electric cars replace gas stations now, eh? LOL greedy fools end up getting the short end of the stick.

  • Great show Matt & Mr. Angry, the volt is a great car but it's been 100 years since electric cars first came on the market and after all this time all we get 50 miles. I really want it to do a lot more. The way it looks is great, and it should feel like a normal car, also if it can sound like a car then that would be good. Great show and great cars

  • Because this is the first car of this kind - only the electric motor drives the wheels - what I wanna see is an affordable price. This car HAS TO WORK FOR GM. So I don´t wanna see fancy stuff that would drive the price up, like heated seats, cameras, self-parking assistance etc. I want to see a simple car that works well and is reliable. Period.

  • I would like the VOLT to look like a normal car and not a space ship. I would probably buy a prius if it didn't scream I am a hippie

  • the Volt for me would need to be able to handle winters a lot better than the pruis dose its battery drains like a lead brick falling out of the sky in the winters. i would also need tcs or a locking dif. along with all other safety features today.

  • It would have to be a stick.

  • If the Volt looks like it did in that unveiling, I'd say that it would appeal in the looks department to a lot of younger aged people...

  • I would like to see a solar panel on the roof just incase I forget to plug it in atleast it get's some charge when I'm not using it. Also that's a 100% reusable source.

  • Good idea, even if it gives 2 miles more I would like it to be on my car

  • You..... are a genius.... even if they dont put it on, you could probably rig up something on your own.. Never use gas during the day time, even on a cross-country trip... Genius

  • I need/want it to go 9 secs.

  • I want a performance car that gets grate mileage, so why not strip down the Camaro and slap a Volt hybrid electric engine in it so you can go fast when you want to and get grate mileage when you want to. Is it just me or is this a no brainier?

  • too bad about not being able to correct the lambo info. but when the sv comes (which it will, one year before replacement, just like the superleggara gallardo) you can do a re-run.

  • my ideal volt: fisker karma with volt philosophy of hybrid. caddy should ditch the ugly as fuck dts and replace it with a diesel fueled volt-type hybrid. and of course it should be able to have super-saloon cababilities via fossil-fuel engine take over.

  • needs a mp3 jack indefinetley

  • i love that daytona!

  • come on! are you guys that naive? the volt is estimated to cost $35,000 USD. do you seriously think that $0.80/40miles (to recharge) is more economical than a honda fit or something that costs < $20,000??!! do the math- see what the break-even period is. and factor in the cost to overhaul the volt's battery system!

make these things economical and they'll sell like hotcakes. at $35,000- FORGET IT

  • you're probably right, but who knows?

  • well they are gonna give u a tax break of 5k on the volt....and as for the honda fit, its retarded, u could get a civic with a decent engine and the same or better mpg for about the same price

  • I'd like the Volt to look like Audi S5.

  • i just wish one of these new hybrid/econ cars would come with more horsepower. it can be done soe why not do it? the market for that would be through the roof!

  • More cars less chit chat

  • tuesday is always a discussion, cars come thursday.

  • go fchat!

  • i want a mode that the old skylines had. that button that calls for economical mode. essentially i want that button to dim out all the internal lights disable a/c, heated seats, all the power accersories like the locks and windows. turn off traction control and all those little things we dont always need. that should give more mileage. and the basics. as someone said before a 3 door lighter version would be a good idea as well because thats even more mileage.

  • i heard from a gm representative if u leave he volt outside for about 2week it will charge itself with the sun. also you could charge it with one of the cigar lighter things in another car.

but anyway, i would like 2 c the volt look better. i hate the way the production model look. gm has 2 make up thir mind, old school badass look (concept) or aerodynamic, prius looking thing (production).

  • My biggest question about the Volt is the type of batteries or power cells will they use? With going through a charge at least once every day, for how many years will these cells last? I don't feel like saving a few grand on fuel, just to spend it on new cells when those ones go south.

  • p.s

    just thought of this.

this car will not go well in the market for people who live in apartments / condos / or town homes or houses without a garage with a electric outlet..

so hopefully there will be an self charging car in the future.

  • nice video :)

  • The murcie is a hypercar, which is just for sho, albeit it has alot of horspower but it is a car for posers...

  • that dude is cool he shut matt farah fagget ass up

  • good show!

  • The gas engine is just a generator. It's NOT a hybrid.

  • The car, as a whole, uses two different sources for power... therefore it is a hybrid.

What's the difference if the engine drives the wheels, or the engine powers the motor which drives the wheels. It's still getting power from a gasoline engine.

  • The difference is in the drive. It's a technical difference. If you had solar power added to it to make electricity, it would not be a hybrid. Still driven electrically.

  • Wonder what the new Lamborghini is going to look like.

  • think im unsubscribing.....How about just getting in the same room....

  • Then you can't watch action and reaction

  • I want to see a burnout.

  • yeah i love this show

  • Nice
