Im pretty sure you almost had it, if you would have just tried to twist it up again....either in another "figure 8" or just compressing the circles down (not sure how exactly to explain how that is done or if that was even possible cause i couldnt "really" tell what you were actually doing.

Grab two corners along the long edge.

Fold them in, but in an upward motion towards your arm pits, rather than towards each other (like you were doing). That bottom lip that pops up automatically will come up towards your wiener, so keep the bottom edge away from you.

That should about do it.
