what about the cooling fan? when i did this, the cooling fan damaged the alternator apparently, because it could not spin (i have discovery 1).
any ideas or advice?

Hi Vindicator,
The trick is to get an electric fan... Then you can have a remote switch in the cab so when you wade through you can switch off the fan manually.

bashatonic, inst there a way to temporarily disable the original fan without buying a totally new one? I just want to cross a river that has about 5 - 6 feet in depth and is 300 wide.
