Beginning in the 1960-'61 season, Best Foods, the makers of Skippy Peanut Butter, became the alternate sponsor of "DENNIS THE MENACE" {with Kellogg's}. This is a typical "integrated commercial" from 1961 featuring Dennis and "Good Ol' Mr. Wilson", with Frank Nelson as the narrator...

Sorry, but I have been eating peanut butter since the 1950's and I've always believed that JIF tasted much better than Skippy....

You might want to try Skippy's "Natural" blend, 'Sheri'. To my tastebuds, it's better than their "regular" kind...

Frank Nelson never failed to make me laugh when he was on Jack Benny. His delightfully rude character was hilarious.

Frank Nelson was the same as Gale Gordon was off-mike {and camera}- soft-spoken, and a VERY nice guy.
fromthesidelines 3 years ago
Dear Luigi, He was very nice, yet he was tough and
he spoke his mind very honestly. He also didn't talk like the guy with the
pompus voice. He had a southern accent..so..he was nothing
like the guy that you heard on the screen.

The off camera announcer for this tv plug for
"Skippy"Peanut butter was a gentleman that I was
lucky enough to meet before he left us..Mr.Frank Nelson.

Frank Nelson was a fabulous comedian and possessed a magnificent voice. What was he like in real life anyway?
