there is a difference between having a hyperactive disorder and having an attention deficiet disorder, but for some reason doctors dont want to recognize this and classify them as one. hyperactive kids DO NOT NEED MEDICINE, LET THEM BE HYPER. attention deficit kids also dont need medicine, unless it is very severe, the mind has incredible will power to overcome and re-learn how to stay attentive. any kind of medicine has consequence, not just ritalin.

But on topic, I've had teachers and doctors say, when I was younger, that I had ADHD because I couldn't pay attention in class, but it ended up being Auditory Processing Disorder. So fuck 'em. I'm enjoying good grades and college.

as a 19 yr old with ADD ive delt with ppl unable to deal with me being hyper and getting mad about it but ive never taken ritalin or aderal and i wount ever because i have my good days and my bad days but most the time i can controle the level of how hyper i am and my mom never made me take any meds if i ever got to much for her to deal with she sent me to my room which was good because in pissing ppl off i learnd how to controle it (for the most part) on my own with out becoming a zombie

I remember this song was about a friend of the bands that got misdiagnosed with ADHD, I think, and he got perscribed with Ritalin and got hooked on it. Apparently, when you are misdiagnosed and given this drug, you start hallucinating.

The problem comes when parents push doctors to give their kids med when they don't need them or when you find a doctor that's irresponsible.

The doc gave him Ritalin, he got addicted to it and it made him do weird stuff like driving around with the intent of hearing one particular song on an obscure station.
