  • you're beautiful

  • Why does it matter if we use hot or cold water for washing our faces?! There are some people around the world who don't even have water!

  • Thank you! I liked the way you explained it (:

  • HOT water was more energy to remove dirt on the skin, which therefore removes dirt much easily than cold water.

  • From personal experience cold water significantly reduces acne, I was told it stops oil from spreading when your pores are closed. It got rid of most of my acne after about a 1 week of taking cold showers but acne came back after taking hot showers again.

  • is there actually a scientific research paper written about this? Please let me know because I want to read it. Thanks!

  • lol... "so just have fun!" chyea right... -__-

  • Thumbs Up if you have acne and your looking how to remove them XD

  • i use warm water, not to hot, not to cold...

  • i always use cold water..it just makes my face feel fresh ^^

  • then why do mens we wes get smaller when its cold??=pp

  • I wish my pores were tiny little things.

  • cold water open pore and hot water close the pore?!

    is that true??

  • @carol02086 Let's put it this way: When you're cold, you get goosebumps, right? Goosebumps is the creation of several pores expanding. Why do they expand? To let heat in and regulate your temperature. It's kinda similar to what happens on your face.

  • @TheRawr80 thank you for the explaination.

  • @carol02086 Also, I've been having Isolaz treatment, and before the laser is applied, the nurse wets my face with a hot wash cloth. That's to OPEN the pores, so when the laser penetrates, the bacteria inside will be extracted much more efficiently. Cold water then CLOSES the pores, so bad bacteria, which can come from anywhere (your hands, greasy food that touches your prone skin, not necessarily eating it, etc), which, as a whole has been wonders using in conjunction with the regimen.

  • @carol02086 I'm not doubting TheRawr80's theory, but for me washing your face with an exfoliating cleanser then immediately washing with cold water, followed by PATTING your face dry with a CLEAN towel has worked very well for me. I have used benzyol peroxide for nearly 2 years now and my face is acne free. Hope i haven't confused you!

  • @NaskrilHD i don't know which one is better, warm or cold?sometime warm water tend to dry out my face, maybe i should try your face washing method....using a good cleanser and cold water, then pat dry my face with a clean towel.hope my acne will get better~~

  • @carol02086 Sorry bud, I didn't quite make myself clear. I meant wash with the cleanser with WARM water, then immediately wash with COLD water. And ofc use benzyol peroxide too. Even though Dan uses 2.5% bp in his regimen, after a few months my skin was able to tolerate 10% and it does the job wonders. I did start using 2.5% because of the amount of praise his regimen has, but 2.5% is just too weak for my skin these days and doesn't really help to dry my skin :/

  • @carol02086 Anyways I'm back on bp now because my acne came back after a few months of not using it. There is no cure to acne (although for some people accutane and laser treatment has been) but bp helps prevent it. I highly recommend using bp in conjunction with Isolaz as it has helped my acne significantly. I will be posting videos of before and after soon so feel free to subscribe if you wanna see how it's going for me :P

  • Wudder.. lol. Funny he says water.

  • well heyth guys!! well basically ( cough cough PUT IT IN MY BUTT NOW) you want to be using warm water too.. ( PUT IT IN MY BUTT NOWW!!!) clean your face and ( JUST PUT IT IN MY BUM NOW)

  • @cfouracre you're kind of a retard.

  • who would ever create an youtube account to talk about acne?

  • @Nickcoz0 a dermatologist with his own line of acne medication? :P

  • thanks good answer

  • Did anyone bother you even correct you down in the comments?

You really should take this video down. Someone is going to believe you.

You're right, cold water contracts the pores. BUT in biology, your pores will contract to the point of least resistance, which is the the empty hole that makes up your pores! So your pores contract to CLOSE.

  • is taking vitamin e capsules helps clear the ance on my face faster?

  • This guy is 37 and he looks 20. Found that out on his website. I dont think im going to use his acne treatments though. Not until he gets approval from a dermatologist or something. But he knows what he is talking about.

  • @SuperSunny365 What exactly do you want his products to say?

Even products that don't have dermatologists' approval are mass marketed and sold in stores to consumers. Besides, any of the products he offers on his website are also offered to consumers in stores as well. I mean, aside from the high quantity and quality that other products simply can't, are sold.

  • @SuperSunny365 To me, dermatologist endorsement just means it's being advertised on TV and sold in general stores. They might even refuse to add that seal to these products because they seem to work: Proactive & Murad Complex had it, nuff said. It's kind of like having the FDA's approval lol. I got rid of my horrible acne with a great skincare set, but I did just order some jojoba oil to try as a balm =]

  • @SuperSunny365 His products are actually amazing. My acne was pretty severe and the only thing that helped were prescriptions from the dermatologist. My insurance barely covers the medications and I simply couldn't afford paying $400+ out of pocket--the severe acne came back. I ordered his "treatment" and moisturizer, using my own face wash, and my face cleared up--after only about three weeks--to the way it looked with the prescription stuff.

  • @SuperSunny365 Well, I'm 19 and if I saw this guy on the streets there is no way in hell I would think he is 20.

  • I only use cold water because even though warm water feels better I know it damages skin over time plus it also darkens youre face tone over time...

  • @eddiechairez lol well this con artist helped me completely clear my severe acne. pretty good trick, right?

  • thumbs up for using metric units! lol

  • you shouldnt use really hot water on your skin as it breaks and snaps collagen underneath the skin

  • where did you get your facts? the skin isn't like metal.

  • Most acne products say to rinse with warm water, and it also feels the best. ;p

  • i like luke warm water on my skin, it feels nice. BTW you have great skin!!! Its really clear.

  • i dont believe in the hot cold thing clean well hydrated skin makes a difference with out the added steps. i mean wash up before bed.

  • pores dont have muscles. they can get stretched out if left dirty with trapped dead skin cells. BTW pore size is already pregenetically determined so the best thing to do for your self is to keep them cleaned out use a gentle scrub a couple times every two weeks. use retin a or the aha for the pore size down. yep the dude is right. he has great skin, whats his age? His skin looks like a freshed faced 20 year old. well is he 20?

  • my ive been healthy eating getting my everyday 5 a day drink loads of water and hot water gave me more acne so im using cold water

  • I think you are right I washed my face with cold water for an experiment and the very next day I had about 3 big lumpy bumpy sports and it really hurts.

  • but i don't want to waste water waiting for it to turn warm :[

otherwise i would use warm water.

    lol

  • does anybody know if the queen helene mint julep mask is suppose to burn when you put it on????? thanks!! =]

  • it doesn't burn for me when i use it . its kinda minty and tingly i guess. if you experience burning i think you could apply less and wait for about 5mins then wash it off . probably your skin is sensitive.

  • i sort of always assumed this

  • OMG! is that really true? ive been doing it all wrong. ugh! but does it help to open or close them even slightly when youre trying to clean them?

  • I knew it! mwahaha

  • ur not to literally put hot water on ur face.. if it hurts, to hot.. i just use a bit more than luke warm water

  • I use lukewarm water which I think works best. It smooths your skin a bit but doesn't irritate your spots as much!

  • Random question: Dan, how do you feel about home made remedys? Not only for acne, but for dry skin even.

I've used tuns of ''home made'' scrubs and such...and they did hydrate my skin but I was wondering if it does any long term damage.

  • i feel cold is better it wont make u all red and hot after so over all whould look cleaner.

  • hahaha how much fun can someone have washing there face XD good to know tho

  • i dont understand english. Its better warm or cold water?

  • It doesn't matter whether you use cold or hot water. You don't have to worry about opening up your pores to clean them. So both cold and hot water does the same.

  • warm water cleans the dirt better then cold water. But also hot water can damage the skin.

  • nice video cheers from melbourne australia

  • thanks for the info

  • yes people pore size is genetic so don't waste your money on products that claim to make your pores smaller, lol

  • bumbacuthoat:

    where did you read that?

So I I buy the Pore Minimizer that Penelope Cruz is selling, it wont work?

  • i truly believe it got something to do with redness and irritation dough, because when i take a shower with hot water i end up with my face very irritated, that doesnt happen when i use warm/cold water..

  • A counter example is... think of the skin as a cloth with the holes b/w threads as the pores. When you stretch the cloth, the pores open, when you release, the pores get smaller. I think the only conclusive proof is to get a microscope and some skin and see for real.

  • this is mind blowing information. you deliver it so casually. this changes everyone's beliefs on this because its a super common myth. thanks for the info

  • I learned something new. Great explanation.

  • dan, can you explain where babies come from? =P

  • lol

  • you don't wanna know
