If you think these speakers suck then you are stupid what do you buy pyle or lighting audios. Any speaker can sound good with the correct power and the best box. But ever woofer wont slam like you want it so if you are saying they suck because you cant hook a 10,000watt earthquake to them and flex the doors on your car then stop looking at cheap speaker and buy a 18" kicker solo x. Now if your going for small bass with a clean sound here is your woofer.
The have .5Ohm stable amps and when wireing a 1Ohm amp at 1.34Ohms your not going to draw the full power of the amp so if its 1500Watts rms you wont draw the full 1500Watts thats why it is good to add subs in even number so the ohm load will be even.
@69thepizzaboy infinities are probally the cleanest hitting subs ive ever heard hooked up. doesnt matter which series you could probally pick a set up at best buy for cheap and theyll still have that sound quality
lol even underpowered these sound awesome, i have 2 1252w ref's at 2 ohms off a cheap sony amp and they sound crazy good, can't wait for my rf-1500-1bd to come so i can give em some real juice.
i have a question,,,i have 3 12'' infinitys like you and i didnt kno if i should get a mono amp and run all three subs to just the mono or get like a 3 or 4 channel amp and run it like that
no matter what version of the infinity you have, it would be cheapest to get one mono amp. You'll want to explore if you have a equivalent load of 1.33 ohms or maybe 2.66 ohms to determine how much you want to overrate the amp to power the subs properly.
Aim to put 400 watts to each sub, so to achieve a good 1200 watts on a one ohm stable amp, you should buy a 1500 watt amp. 1500/1.33 ~ 1200
yeah, get between 1200 and 1500 watt mono. (3) single 4 ohm subs will get you a equivalent resistance of 1.333 ohms when you wire them in parallel, which is the best you can do as most amps don't like to see any lower impedance than that.
i've been building systems for a long time and i'm broke, so i buy cheap... component speakers were about $110 shipped, subs were $50 each shipped, amp was $130 shipped i think..... made the box for about $80
So basically $360 for the subs setup, and i built it all with basic tools in my apt. parking lot
that just an infinity kappa reference set.... 6.5" midbass and a tweet. It doesn't really put out any bass, but it has the most balanced tweeter of about 8 different component sets i tried out!
It is a GP2500d I think. Prolly puts out 1500 watts rms, but i'm not sure. Super nice amp for under $200 shipped. The engineer at maxxonics said it was better than the 1608d I was looking at.
man my t5 15 box and port is bigger than that lol ...just one!

@GaMeR4LiFe22 wow kicker is cheap ass china made subs they sound like total fucking shit go rockford or ppi
nitromonsterv2 6 months ago
@1trblmaker
You will need a mono amp or a 4 channel amp you can only wire 3 4ohms subs at either 1.34Ohms or 12Ohms.

@vandehoosie
if you think infinitys are the cleanest hitting subs you must only listen to cheap speakers.

my math might be a bit off... i've only taken calc III, but i'm still kinda slow, but it was under $500 for my sub setup
