this lens,along with the other earlier AFS lenses are prone to AF problems. fixing it is not cheap as well.

Mine is also doing this. But only when the lens body is cold (weather, cold room, ...). Does yours focuses O.K. when warmed-up?

asshole it's only af motor gears wich are broken. you can fix it.
