  • I love this game. It was ahead of its time in technology and game-play.

  • 3:00 man that scene is epic with the star imploding, and the base that i get xd

  • Haha, you really do like this cutscene, eh? All good. So do I. =D

  • I wish someone would to a playthrough of this game

  • @ultrasonicsite Subscribe and I may be able to arrange that for you.

  • @Mazryonh Subscribed

  • Can you upload the ending to nexus?

  • @Predalien72 Maybe when I have time later, I'll upload the cutscenes to this excellent game.

  • one of the most epic and memorable scenes... in sci-fi gaming history

  • You can say that again. You KNOW someone knew what s/he was doing when s/he wrote down "Humanking hoped the settlers would discover utopia, but all they have found are new wars, new enemies, and new ways of killing."

  • Strange, how come the colony ship not go to the surface :S

  • Its design means it can't land. It likely had several lander ships to reach the target planet, though--in other words, it's just a transfer ship to take cargo from orbit to orbit.

  • Ah ok, I was thinking how Noah could not support a fleet of that size with just that station :P

  • I hope soon that all the good games that should have had a sequel, and which was canceled will have it Homeworld 3, Hegemonia 2, Nexus 2...

  • I am repeatedly told in real life that "quality sells itself," and that "those who do good work will get the reward they deserve."

Every time I hear those aphorisms, I cannot help but think of this marvellously made game and all of its potential sitting on the trash heap of gaming history . . .

  • I love this game! I have every game the makers came out with! Imperium Galactica I - II, Both Haegemonia games and Nexus too! Tese are such great games.

    Petition signed fingers crossed!

  • What I don't get is why Digital Reality dumped Imperium Galactica 3. They did a good job with Haegemonia, but I don't know why they couldn't keep going with IG3.

I'm not complaining, really, because Nexus rose from IG3's ashes, but I would still like to know what exactly happened for Digital Reality to give up on it.

  • You're lucky,my friend! All I have is Haegemonia...A copy I got in torrentz . And I never found a decent copy of Haegemonia:The Solon Heritage...T.T

  • I actually took the time to buy a copy of The Solon Heritage off of Ebay. I'm glad I did, because it balances the game very nicely--it's no longer a race to get battleships first to win, technologies are balanced and encourage better combinations, more random events, and all sides receive 2 unique units for more strategies.

  • Like I say before, you're lucky,my friend... If I had a international credit card I would make the same and buy copies of Nexus:The Jupiter Incident and Haegemonia:Legions of Iron + The Solon Heritage. But I dont had it...T.T

  • You don't really need an "international credit card." Unless Mastercard or Visa is difficult to get where you live, you should be able to shop online with it just fine, including Ebay and Steam (where Nexus is now being offered for paid download).

  • Believe me,if you lived here in Brazil, you're think 200 times before getting a credit card...sometimes I wonder if the Brazil is not the most expensive country in the world...

  • Is anyone has access to soundtrack of this game plzzz let me know. I LOVE the soundtrack of this game especially the one which start at 00:57

  • If you have the game installed, there is a mod named "datool" that will allow you to unpack the files in the game installation and access the game's soundtrack directly. If you can't find it, I can PM you a link.

Beware, the game takes a MASSIVE amount of hard drive space when uncompressed!

The soundtrack when extracted is in .ogg format, which can be played using a program called Audacity.

  • The theme in question is "the theme of the vardrags." Great way to introduce something incredibly ancient, but it does get kind of repetitive when you start hearing it all the time in the second-to-last chapter of the game.

The theme is great to make you think you're dealing with god-like beings, but the sadly the Vardrags are nowhere near as competent. :(

  • SO lets say i installed the game into my hard drive then i have to download this mod tool? because i am really not good with modding tools...

  • The tool isn't that difficult to use. Just install the game, download the mod, run it, and follow the instructions. You have to tell the mod which folder your Nexus files are installed in, since it's a command line program (like DOS was).

  • so from which website i can download this Mod tool?

  • Oh i just wanted to thank you for your really superb help. I downloaded the mod tool and was able to get the soundtrack. So again...Thank You very much.

  • You're welcome. The files are a bit hefty to lug around in an IPod, though. You'll probably need to use Audacity to save them as a .wav file and then ITunes to convert them into .aac files.

  • Sadly we might never know. But do us all a favour and sign the petition for a sequel in my other Nexus vid.

  • Sometimes eye-candy is necessary for people to pay attention to a story, however. Not all PC titles are as lucky as Max Payne 1 to portray a story on such a low budget and become a hit.

And this game features space combat eye-candy in SPADES. Who else would put robot waitresses in their cutscenes?

  • Dang Finally I found you and this video again Meant to subscribe like 5 months ago something like that I found it again though!

    WooT WooT

  • You're welcome. As an added bonus, you can now watch this vid in higher quality than before by clicking on the option underneath the view number.

Be sure to check out the tech demo for the sequel in my videos.

  • It's just the ship designs, how the whole thing of space was portrayed. 8 months to get to jupiter, whereas Noah could do it in nearly 1/10 the time. The guns shooting slugs, the Gorg leader at the end fighting with you. Plus the journal bits you could read were good. It was just all a quality game

  • Not only that, but I believe it was the only space combat RTS to feature full 3-D motion and engagement, kind of like a full-on Battlestar Galactica or Babyon 5 in your PC.

There's a great Stargate Mod in the works for this game. Have you seen the promotional vids for it yet?

  • Im afraid I only torrented this game :P I completed it, then due to my lack of space on my pc I got rid of it. I'll have to look it up. PDS for Homeworld 2 has the 3-D motion and engagement

  • You can get Nexus: TJI for paid download on steam, actually. Supporting games you like helps more of them come on out!

  • I may, depends if the mod is worth it. Do ye have personal experience?

  • + Is that planet the colony Noah, or is it the station?

  • I think it's best if you look for the terms Stargate Nexus by yourself, and check out the vids and links on Moddb dot com.

They've made an impressive number of ships from the Stargate SG-1 show, and are now looking for a worthy texture artist.

The planet in red is likely Mars, the station is just a Noah station from the original game. The big blue battleship is likely a Noah/Vardrag technology hybrid, given the white circles and the colour.

  • Original game? :S

And what planet? Big blue battleship?

  • I thought you were asking about the tech demo, so I answered with that in mind.

  • Ah. I just thought there is no way that the space station is THE colony

  • Game is awesome, but especially the story! But the human battleships did rock socks tbh :P

  • Too bad we didn't get to play with battleships in the singleplayer campaign much, eh?

This is still one of the best written and constructed space games ever.

  • oh sry, last thing, i have:

    c2d e6400

    8800gts (driver:169.21 whql)

    2 gb 667 ram

    xp sp2(has latest updates)

    and

any help or information would be welcome^^

  • nvm, problem fixed! :)

  • I don't want to play a game without cutscenes or other things what completes the story and skipping the cutscenes makes me angry. This game is really good and best space rts i ever know. i'm waiting for sins of solar empire now but this doesn't mean i give up to play this^^ ty anyway

  • this game crashes at very beginning of the game.i tried everything(patch, drivers etc..) but doesn't work. i have 8800gts. anybody help?

  • If it crashes at the beginning, are you running any background programs like Daemon Tools, Kazaa or the like which can interfere with the program? Stuff like this usually happens if something is incompatible with your system.

    Is the disc scratched?

  • thanks for quick reply.

I haven't these programs(daemon, kazaa etc...) and it crashes at the MISSIONs beginning

i can play the game if i skip all gameengine-cutscenes.The game crashes every cutscene after the solar system/briefing video. Moreover, this causes BSoD and resets pc. i didn't find any solution.

  • Then, I'm sorry. I can't help you with this. You might try asking around the official Nexus forum at nexusthegame dot com, though.

  • anyone think they could sell me thier copy or extra copy they have layin round, plz?

  • I sincerely hope they make a second game with a just as thrilling story (I want to know what happened to Angel!). And that they also manage to create a just as stunning graphics engine that just doesn`t seem to require an extremely powerful computer to really enjoy high end graphics.

  • I would hope so too. Angel was quite the character--sarcastic, biting, but really helpful when necessary. She can also compose quite a few nice haikus (which are even better when you remember this game was originally made in Hungarian!).

May quality like this live forever.

  • Probably the best 'space' game (imho), on par with Homeworld. I greatly enjoyed playing this game. Only short coming was it`s lack of multiplayer playability. I`v wanted to play this against friends and so forth LAN many times but we can only pit ourselves against a Gorg fleet that seems to respawn indefinately.

  • Just beated the game. Awsome storyline, it kept me in the game. Altough some things could have been better. It still was great to finaly play the game and beat it! "This is how the BIG BOY's play." Rear Admiral Arthur Norbank

Also; "These are just a pack of over-sized Lizards whats to overestamite??? Don't worry Captain. These are EASY targets!! *Athens and Rome get blasted*

How did he survive that blast was beyond me! He is truly a survivor. I think he's my fav charachter.

  • Did you notice the "in-joke" for history buffs Mithis planted about Admiral Norbank? If you paid attention to the special mission briefing notes, you might have noticed that Norbank is "proud that he's descended from the famous General Custer."

Apparently he's too busy being proud to realize that General Custer was one of the greatest military blunderers in history.

  • Actually, the stealth missions (Sneaking and Titans Episode) in Nexus was the best. At first, they made me frustated, but after i played them several times, i've known the way to complete these "damn" missions :D

  • Somebody over at Mithis Entertainment sure knew what they were doing. Too bad they weren't rewarded for it . .

  • No bloody skirmish??

What the hell were they thinking?!

  • Nexus is a great game, such a shame they didnt originally include a skirmish and that it looks like there wont be a sequel despite that fantastic looking tech demo (reminded me alot of battlestar)

    love that vardrag music too

  • Hehe, watching this movie made me reinstall Nexus on my comp and play it again. It's such a good game. I seem to like the story and the game play of it although it can be frustrating at times to beat the missions.

  • I'm glad you do. Maybe you could check out my other videos to see the tech demo to the sequel of Nexus and bug HD Interactive to actually release the game :).

  • Nexus is a great game, the story at times could seem weird but overall an excellent game, does anyone know where you can download the soundtrack?

  • What mission is that about? I beat the mission about fifty times (that's not a brag, it's credentials). I'll help you on anything!:)

By the way, this game rocks!!!

  • hey can you tell me how to pass the sneaking mission Mazryonth

  • You win that mission hiding behind the asteroids, and making sure you don't decloak in sight of the station or the patrol ships. Don't get within 700 units of distance to another ship while cloaked, either.

A lot of this game is experimentation. Be careful, keep trying, and it will work.

  • try hiding in the radiation clouds in the sneaking one. it will eat your shield but by the time it drops substantially it will be time to hit the cloak again

  • i love this game-thanks for posting this!

  • I'm glad you like it. This game needs all the attention it can get.

  • Nexus really got a nice story

  • Of course it does. That's why I uploaded the video, so as to give it some more exposure amongst the youtube community.

The best line in this video is "Humankind hoped that the settlers would discover utopia, but all they have found are new wars, new enemies, and new ways of killing." Well written, well translated, and well voiced.

  • hehe yeah indeed =)

  • Yep love that line. And the song starting after it with the ships doing combat. "This is how the BIG BOY's play." Rear Admiral Arthur Norbank

  • Actually, it's "This is how the BIG BOYS do battle!"

And yes, someone over at Mithis actually knew how to write good game dialogue in English, even haikus!
