Read John 3:16-21 again, why do they hate Him? Because He testifies their works were evil, so do we you as His followers(John 15:19).
"free from sin.. against Scripture & against Christ's teachings" you really are ignorant. Go read John 8:31-36
lol... Matt 7, false prophets? What bad fruit? show
im very proud of the students of berea college. these westboro wannabees came to danville spitting hate and were ignored and laughed at. good job confronting this scum.
These "children" at Berea College need to realize that this was a day when the Narrow Path that leads to everlasting life came right through their Broad Road that leads to destruction. Repent of your sins, lay all your sins at the foot of the cross, and be washed in the shed blood of Jesus as an atonement for your sins. Today is the day of salvation. You are not promised tomorrow.
It's "hear"... and why are you spreading your own ideals then? .... leave? Be consistent.
Stop being murderous also, you think it's just a joke but it shows your heart and what you would do if you knew no consequence--but I tell you, there is consequence and you're a murderer now. Repent! Trust in Christ and gain life... or you will answer for that statement one day.
I don't want to hear your ideological false assertions, you have no proof that God doesn't exist... give me ONE reason you believe He doesn't exist and I'll show you how you're not consistent with it.
According to the school policy organizers and participants must not
directly confront passersby. I'm not sure why the school granted these guys a permit to begin with, particularly as the message that they were there to present violated the school's commitment to encourage in all members of the community high personal standards, and concern for the welfare of others. These guys were just litigation trolls looking for a lawsuit. Thank goodness the students' counter-protest is defensible
@droptozro sounds like they should probably go back to their day jobs then. If you want to reach people and bring them to Christ, you don't do it by antagonizing them and condemning them to hell. Any man who has the audacity to assume that kind of authority over another person behaves as a false prophet. God is perfectly capable of making his own judgments without the intervention of these men. If they were genuine about bringing people to Christ, they would have acted out of love like Jesus did
"you don't do it by antagonizing them and condemning them to hell"--John 3:16-21.. says they're already condemned, we're just revealing the truth. They can repent and believe though.
"...false prophet" What Scripture says that? Actually the true prophets were hated in Scripture, and the false were loved by crowds(Luke 6:26, Matt 5:12).
This is out of love, do you know anything Jesus said? They didn't spend their time and money to drive that way for fun. define "love" also.
@marialouisa108 The two men who chose to stand at the intersection of Main and Chestnut were advocating the message of Christ. Many were upset at the rhetoric used which was, at times, antagonizing and provocative. The students were not upset about the message, simply the charge that most of us were going to hell. While not outlined well in this video, both sides were at fault to an extent.
See now that title makes sense. That Jesus guy was like a Ron Paul guy at an Obama rally or an Obama guy at a Ron Paul rally! Ron Paul 2012 by the way!
@YaHuWaHservant I support his right to say whatever he likes. The second jesus advocate actually supports Ron Paul. I think people should be allowed to say controversial things. I was surprised the crowd grew to the level that it did.
@Fireball1013 We as human beings have always taken what other people have said offensively. We then seek to change, most of the time by force, the very nature and belief structure others have accepted. This has lead us to a seemingly constant lifestyle of hatred, segregation, etc in our various societies. The sooner we start to mind our business on things, and simply ignore opinions we may disagree with that do not directly affect our life/liberty/property, the sooner we will grow as people. IMO
@YaHuWaHservant I'm with you. I did not personally agree with the decision to have a dance party, as I feel this reflects negatively on the true nature of the community here.
@Fireball1013 No need to explain mate. I wasn't there and have only a limited window into the past to see what happened. He may have had a self-righteous mentality grip him, the "mob" in this video may have simply had mob mentality set in, or maybe both. Our own actions/intentions are all we can control in this life. The ideal result here would be that everyone walks away with a lesson to know how to act next time. Jesus guy may need to learn humility while the mob members learn individualism.
@Fireball1013 I cannot attest to what all he did/said, he may have indeed been a bigot, but it was not shown in the limited part the Jesus guy had in the video. I myself have on occasion spoken about Jesus, but never saw the point of speaking to people on an issue that they may not be interested in. I often find it funny that when I talk about Ron Paul to people, whom I have an opportunity to broach the subject, the reactions I get are quite similar to the Jesus subject. Just my experience
@cardone7 I believe the phrase was justified based on my conversation with the gentleman earlier in the day. He openly insulted a few of my friends and attempted to hide behind the scripture to defend his actions. I have taken a stance at the end of the video, so you can see where I stand on today's demonstration.
@cardone7 Was not the "Jesus guy" casting the first stone on the issue of speaking down to those he disagrees with? Would you have this kind of compassion, I wonder, if the Westboro Baptist Church or Muslim Brotherhood had been the ones "preaching" to these individuals? We did not get the whole picture here, so it may indeed be pointless to speculate, but from what I see everyone was a little at fault in some aspect of this ordeal. After that debating whom was worse or started it seems petty
You name yourself after God, yet you do not know the Scriptures and you think you're teaching others? Those were real stones friend, go read the Scriptures--not words of warning. Don't be deceived.
The true prophets Jesus said were hated, I suggest you go read His "sermon" in Matthew 5-7... the false prophets are loved by the crowds.(Luke 6:26)
Preaching is commanded, and if you're not obeying then you're scattering--(Matt 12:30) Paul debated also(Acts 17:17), so do we.
@droptozro "For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? cont
@droptozro Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye." Matthew 7:2-5 I know that you saw all that I was able to see so neither of us know whether he was preaching or being a bigot. However, there is a distinction between preaching the word to the masses and using it to lay judgement against them. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Whether it be a literal stone or a stone of judgment.
Thanks! Glad you quoted the entire thing... so what does it say, the same judgement you use will be used against you. So if I'm out getting drunk, I cannot tell another to stop getting drunk--it'd be hypocritical. And if I've truly repented(taken the log out) then I can now judge and tell another to stop getting drunk!(take their speck out). A bigot is a subjective term, is truth divisive? do you think Christ would not have been called a bigot?
Jesus spoke about judgment quite often, do you actually know the Scriptures--I ask you again? He was always against hypocritical judgement, and so are we--but most people think they're on the path to heaven, and they need awakened unto righteousness. They need told their sins, the wage is death, just like the prophets did in the OT(Isa 58:1)--Jesus condemned entire cities for not repenting(Luke 10:13).
No, there's a difference--stop imposing your views on the literal text.
I tell you right now, you're making judgments---are you being hypocritical? You're making opinions up about us, the difference is we admit our judgments and we pray and seek they're done righteously in Christ(John 7:24) according to His words. The law can be used lawfully, to show one his/her state under it and their need for Christ.
The woman in adultery, the law calls for both man/woman--only woman was brought, and she was repentant--God gives grace to humble. So do we.
@cardone7 Berea College is a school that was founded upon christian principals, however it is not a 'Christian' school by definition. We believe in impartial love and understanding. When someone comes onto our campus and starts pronouncing damnation on our fellow students with reckless abandon we stand up for ourselves and each other.
@cardone7 If it was someone condemning you and your loved ones to burn in hell could you honestly just walk by without saying a word? No one is perfect. I feel that the students behaved better than could be expected in this situation. Their counter-protest was not violent, but was a demonstration of what they believed and saying what they felt needed to be said.
A disciple would seek to win them to Christ first and let His love work within their heart.
People are naturally defensive and by attacking their faults one turns them away from the main message of salvation to the sinners.
Jesus didn't condemned anyone, even homosexuals. He told us the sinner on his face was righteous over the religious man because of his humility.
The example of Christ is why they listened to Him. He didn't use controversy to rile the crowds.

I'll be the first to admit since I know these guys, you're right--they've been in two lawsuits!
Guess how much they've won...
$1.00 per each lawsuit = $2.00 total
I don't think they've even cashed the checks.
