  • Seriously this is one of the best songs of all time

  • Those were the days!

  • I love the outlaws growing up in High School. I'm now 48 year old and I miss these great southern Rock bands.

  • This band opened for Lenord Skynard in NC before the crash they Rocked the Place, better then Skynard. I can say that , I was There!!!!

  • The Outlaws take over Watseka Theatre Watseka Illinois on Friday october 14, 2011.

  • Look at those guitars go! So hot!

  • Seriously bullet , and whats with the rebel flags too . We all know who won the war right ?

  • @CPlatzinSac. Didn't know the war was over?

  • I'll bet there are Communists and all other types that love or at least like this song

  • Sorry folks, but pretty much all rock and roll stems from so called "black music"!

  • Music lovers of all colors can agree that Southern Rock Rules! Besides wasn't there a black dude in the Allman Brothers Band?

  • THEY ARE CHUCK NORRIS

  • WHY does it have to be about color?? WE ALL LOVE MUSIC!!!

  • Damn! The 70s and 80s was when music was legit i dont know whats happened to music nowadays

  • Both bands while great.. can't put them in the same category...

  • I was at this concert.....freaking awesome!!

  • @beatty60 Where was this?

  • @12groney Rockpalast, Loreley, Germany, 8/29/1981.

  • One of my favorites

  • Thumbs Up for all that went to the "The Roundup" at JFK in Philly..

  • southern rock is the greatest gift from God Almighty...

  • I believe this is where they filmed those Rockpalast concerts in Germany somewhere. Quite a few shows were filmed in the early '80's there and it looks like the same venue with the hill. Other shows recorded there were Stevie Ray Vaughn, U2, Thin Lizzy, REO, and some others. Saw the Outlaws in June of '79 with Boston and Van Halen in Raleigh,NC at UNC Campus stadium w/ Outlaws and Van Halen kicking the most ass..

  • Where was this show?

  • And people of color too

  • i've been there and it was a fantastic evening!

  • ah yes, 1981. lets put a brass nut on the les paul.

  • Is it me, or is only in the outlaws videos where I find comments against Skynyrd?

  • Thank you for posting, brought back many memories from the early 80's

  • I have signed pictures I took of all of them, also signed album covers (even by the photographer who took the cover) Was back at the tour bus with them, they were all pretty cool. Lots of FUN!

  • The Outlaws > Skynyrd sorry its a fact

  • SOUND ON THIS VIDEO IS DISTORTED BIGTIME BUT STILL A JAM

  • them boyz can PLAY

  • Saw Skynyrd and Outlaws together in El Paso in mid 70's. Outlaws did one encore and didn't play GGHT. The crowd was pissed. Skynyrd did two encores and didn't play Free Bird. Crowd was about to start a riot when both bands came out together and did 25 minute medally of Green Grass and High Tides and Free Bird. Have chills now just thinking about it. Don't you wish you would have been there.

  • @duckcommander66 Wow. Yes. I do wish I had been there

  • Sknyrd played with the Outlaws...............saw them in San Fran. Best show EVER.

  • @HillsoGold I saw the same show in Long Beach. Yes it is the ! concert I ever went to.

  • Timeless Classic!

  • I love how the top comment is by a nazi <3

  • RIP Hughie and Billy.

  • raised south of mason dixon line, turned on to these guys from a Pennsylvania girl.

  • i seen them play on the new river in radford virginia river jam one of my top 10 all time favroites bands ever long live southern rock taliked to the band after the show one of the coolest bands

  • these guys were high as shit

  • Of course!

  • The bass Player is Rick Cua. He isn't very "Southern Rock" as he is a Jersey boy. Lives in Nashville now, however.

  • I might be going backstage with these guys in November :D

  • Bass player almost looks like Elton John!

  • @Demspissmeoff yeah, because glasses make someone look exactly like someone else.

  • Awesome Post..Thank You,I seen this very tour..OUTLAWS ROCKED !

  • great band n' great song..i love the sound of the Les Paul..

  • Go Billy on that Les paul!

RIP you and hughie both.... no one can touch you two.

    best band ever!

  • Comment removed

  • The bass player looks like an idiot.

  • lol he looks funny while playing

  • Saw them at the height of their powers, 1976 (SF winterland with Lynyrd Skynyrd) and 77 with Marshall Tucker Band at the concord pavilion. A great band. The bass player is wearing those big freaky 80s glasses--how very un-southern rock of him!

  • Put all of today's guitar players together... and they could not even touch this!

  • Where was this show and is that Tommy Shaw leaning against the stage at around 3:25 on left with red and white jacket?

  • saw them in concert 2 weeks ago they was the best out of the 3 bands(foghat, firefall, and the outlaws)

  • LOL at southern flags being waved

  • Great Song ! I remember hearing it on vinyl when it came out. Never heard anything like it close, since.

  • This song is unreal. Never can be done by anybody except this Lineup right here.

By the way, dont compare Freebird to GG&HT, Two WAY different songs.

    Both are amazing.

    These solo's are beautiful.

Drummer & Bassist are working their ass off too.

Just an all around amazing band.

    R.I.P Billy and Hughie.

  • The greatest rock band ever! To all of you who say them live you know what I mean!! Billy and Hughie were so awesome together, The Guitar Army will always live on!

  • Skynyrd, The Outlaws, Marshall Tucker Band, 38 Special, etc. -- brothers of southernhood is what I call it. Those wild eye southern boys have this big very close knit family/friends circle ... an unbreakable bond with no rivalry, but more like a support system! Somewhere along the line they all know each other somehow. This one knew that one, grew up with this one or that

  • Yeah, I'm from Orlando and all the Southern Rock Bands gave me a belief system, their experiences performed gave me ideas of what its all about. American by birth, Southern by the Grace of God.

  • i hate rock but this song is awesome but only if this guy sings it ! 5 stars

  • Sorry to fuck with ya. But only if this guys sings, 5star? Are you that dumb? Learn music ... and you'll be K. Fed.

  • Sorry KLQKPILOT, but if you hate rock then you hate music.. :S.....real music!

  • fuck you, you have absolutely zero taste and nobody cares what you say, go listen to your baggy jeaned ho-bearing rappers

This one knew that one, grew up with this one or that one, went to school with or was a friend of a friend who did, and I think it is terrific.

  • i cant believe he died

  • One of the dirtiest, nastiest, rawest, most b-EAU-tiful southern rock ballads of all time

  • this song blows me away everytime, thank god i bought rockband, because otherwise i would of not known it existed

  • haha same here :D, im not usually into this music, but this is amazing

  • There will never EVER Be another Billy, and Hughie..Its Crazy all of the Greatest Southern Rock bands were plagued by the early deaths of their most gifted Guitarists. I agree with Beachie 321 below me, Ladies and Gentlemen..won't you welcome the FLORIDA GUITAR ARMY the OUTLAWS

  • dude i agree, this song blew me away when i first heard it and it still gives me goose bumps when i play it on rockband

  • We still have our Gary Rossington and our 38 Special Boys

  • and Johnny Van Zant too.

  • the FLA guitar army....

    watch and learn

  • "The Four-Guitar Army"! These guys were great on record and live. Long live Huey!

  • this was the hey days for me-this song still pulls something in me-i seen a lot of bands-i seen the music change, but you can still go to a party and jam this song and people will wach you play-it turns heads-peace

  • i discovered this song on rockband!!!! this is amazing

  • looking at the people watching the concert, I just think, what are they doing. But then I come to the conclusion that I would probably be doing the same.

  • Is this from Lorelei at Wiesbaden? I have a concert video of U2 from '83 that was filmed there, and this looks like the same place.

    #@!

  • Awesome! If you lived it... you would know it.

  • Hell yeah boys,, Do it up again !!!! You guys are wonderful! Hail DIXIE Hail The Outlaws ! GO WHITE BOY GO !!!!!

  • hill billy lol

  • that was for the guy who said HILLBILLY

  • WHAT YOU GOT AGAINST BLACK PEOPLE

  • WHAT YOU GOT AGAINST BLACK PEOPLE

  • and you must be an ignorant racist!

  • damn what a voice he has

    rip hughie rip billy

    true legends

  • man billy absolutely tears it up between 5:00 and 6:00

  • And dam his guitar tone is the shit too isn't it

  • it's not a competition. The songs both rock.

  • This song has one of the best guitar solos in the history of humanity. The solo is better and longer than Freebird. The Outlaws are amazing.

  • Best guitar song, check that ,any song, of all time!! Studio version with headphones still gives me chills, and always will.

  • i mean, this song is just amazing, and is just one of the best pieces of music, but this performance just isnt that good....if only it was live id feel it better, but still pretty damn good...

  • I gotta weigh in and agree that GG&HT has better guitar parts than freebird. GG&HT is a masterpiece containing amazing guitar solos and funky rhythm bits. The solo that starts off approx 2:50 in this version starts it for me. I can listen to this song repeated over and over....and over! My roomate in college used to play this album and turned me on to the Outlaws. He also exposed me to Johnny Winter. Rock on!

  • SKYNYRDS GOT NOTHING ON THE OUTLAWS!

  • they have everything. soz but skynyrd DEFINES southern rock, ther good but skynyrd is best far away.

  • You simply cannot compare Skynyrd with the Outlaws. Why do ppl always feel the need to compare bands and songs? Why not just enjoy them? The reason a musician STARTS playing is for pure enjoyment !! Usually. I hate when ppl compare FreeBird to GG&HT because they are two completly different songs from two great but completly different bands. Just enjoy the fact that we have all these fuckin awesome Southern Rock bands to listen to KEEP IT ALIVE WHITE PPL...!!!!!!!!!

  • @AryanPrideCGP

How about their hats? Who do you think had better hats?

  • @AryanPrideCGP dont forget Point Blank.

  • @AryanPrideCGP And ppl of color ! Whatever color they may be

  • @AryanPrideCGP freaking fucking awesome on buublegum hash!!!!

  • @AryanPrideCGP

Not everyone who like this kind of music is a dumb ignorant bitch like you dumbass.

You probably don't even know what a true Aryan is you fascist bitch.

  • @AryanPrideCGP I think you're late for your KKK meeting. Better get your hood on.

  • @AryanPrideCGP I agree with you on almost all aspects, but"keep it alive, white people???"WTF is that???????

  • @AryanPrideCGP simon my nigga tell those wackos as it is, just listen la pinche musica y cayense el ojete, traduccion, juts listen to the fucking musick n shut up to u arses., pinches zerotes no saven apreciaar la musica, traduccion , sorry ignorants u dont know how to apreciate music, ok is enough class, just listehn it my girls

  • thanks for this upload.. I love this song, IMO it whoops the shit outta freebird

  • um its one hell of a song but freebird is the best southern rock song ever. no one will ever touch lynyrd skynyrd

  • Yeah.. I just guess because its the fact that you hardly ever hear this song, whereas I have heard Freebird maybe a million times, just last week.. Why do people always seem to ignore the IMO...

  • the solo in freebird sucks, the two solos in green grass and high tides is godlike

  • boobies are awesome

  • ur fucking weird
