Calling this show "The Electric Company" is an absolute insult to everyone involved with and raised by the original.  You could've at least kept the theme song to give it some dignity.

"You could've at least kept the theme song to give it some dignity." Yes, and then you'd have complained "How dare they use the original theme song on this travesty!"

Most of the people involved with and raised by the original have moved on. Heaven forbid PBS or Sesame Workshop try to teach a new generation of kids basic reading skills without first getting complete approval from aging former viewers desperately clinging to their childhoods.

This show was not made to please old fans of the show. It was made to educate a newer generation.

Not really.

There are people who've worked on the old series that are now working on the remake including my teacher and friend from Sesame Workshop.

Believe it or not the remake is not aimed at the older fans who are now adults but a newer generation.

The learning segments are interesting. However, what's with the lame starting? It's just awful. Why isn't it more like the show "Super Why"? This will be just another example of someone trying to cashing in on an old name, with almost NOTHING relating to the old show. What a disgrace. I would've preferred it to have a new name, maybe something like Electrified! Referencing this to the original 70's run will only give it unnecessary negative press....
