Best advice for catching 15-20lbs carp is simple, no float no wait, no ground bait, just four worms and a hook strait on the mainline. After fishing for 15years, i know all the easy methods for high catch rates. Also i have met Matt Hayes and he's a sterling chap, very nice and willing to share knowledge, and most of all the highest class of fisherman!

best method to catch small carp, (2-6 pound) is to use double red caster, and lose feed hemp and casters little and often, in my 5 yrs fishing tht has worked the best for me :)

A good mix is hemp (chilli and garlic or standard), small carp, halibut or betaine pellets, 'source' groundbait or 'scopex' groundbait and then fish either a double small or single large source or scopex boilie over the top. I would also recommend putting the groundbait down using a method feeder as it will not be taken away by the flow as soon as it hits the water. Cut the boilie down so it isnt round as they can be suspicious of them. Ive had many good river carp using this method.

Easy! Either use a controller float (it's weighted to give you distance) and the bait (dog biccies,floating pellets, bread or whatever) can drift around it, or use a "bubble" float. This is a clear plastic ball which you fill with water. Google either method and you will find the tactic described.

yes you can but remember there is no flex in it so strain on the rod and rod eyes can be huge. Its only really recommended for fishing very large fish. Its not necessary for carp smaller than 25lb really. I use 10lb mainline with a 6lb hook length and it has never let me down even with last seasons 22lb mirror caught from greenhalgh in kirkham lancs.
