I am seeing the Nokia E90 for the first time. However, it seems very interesting. It appears to have some similar functions and capabilities as the Globalinx CU 3000.

I'm trying to make FREE video calls with my N810. I've tried skype, but there is no video icon in the call window like there is on my mac when I make a call... there aren't any options for video calling in the skype settings or prefs on the version installed on my nokia? This $500 tablet has a built-in webcam , & is "skype certified" as the marketing of the product boasts! My N810's skype is up-to-date according to the device's software update checking function... (someone, anyone - pls HELP!)

yes, you need to install nokias' camera app and it will take pics. though i wouldn't use it much for that as it is a VGA cam (im guessing .3 pixels)

When WiMax is available, will current WiFi devices will be able to access WiMax with upgrades?

Looking into your crystal ball, do you see anything brewing on the internet tablet market? I'm willing to wait for something similar as the n800 for the price of <250.

no. "wimax" and "wifi" technologies are different and require different radios / receivers. You may be able to connect with an external wimax connection over blue tooth, however. Basically, all external connections need to be bluetooth or USB. Connecting to a USB drive/camera didn't always work for me. YMMV.

It runs on Linux, correct? So you'd need a messenger that ran on linux, and could use the MSN protocol. 'Gaim' maybe? or 'Pidgin' as its now called. Thats a hard solution, I'd say just use meebo[dot]com for now.

this is a total meaningless thing. if you have a wlan, it means probably you have a laptop. all you need is a webcam which costs around 15€. if you are outside you can not use this device. you need a place where wlan exists.

just go and buy n95.

A laptop won't fit in your pocket. An N95 will (I have one!) but it doesn't have this kind of video chat software.

This is a great set! I have it for video conferencing with my friend from Singapore to US, it's working very well.

Since our WiFi here is free island wide, I can even show the friend whom I'm talking to the surroundings. Don't leave home without it!

Yes, using (free) software called Pidgin.

MSN doesn't have an official client for it (it wouldn't be that good anyway if they did, as most "official" ports are awful). GTalk excluded. :P

1st. What the heck is it? A phone or just a web browser kinda like a "Laptop"

2nd: In order to talk to other people like in the web phone calls the people you call must own a N800 too or you can do it from your N800 to a PC?

3rd: Do you need a monthly payment to use it and if so who's the carrier?

The N800 isn't a phone, it's a pocket computer with wi-fi and bluetooth. You can connect it to the internet however you want to, either through wi-fi if you're in a fixed location or through a bluetooth phone if you're on the move.
