Seriously? Action movie this is not. But it still has a few good sequences. Comedy this is. The laughs are perfectly spaced while the story progresses at a good pace. Twists and suspense run high at the beginning of the climax. Well set up and written movie. I haven't seen the original series but this made me laugh and was worth the watch.

Anne Hathaway and Steve Carell were good in this film but the supporting cast doesn't add to much to the story. You don't cast The Rock in this kind of film.

I agree with the analysis of this movie, but what gets me is that he gave Get Smart a better rating than Watchmen. He was complaining about the inaccuracies this movie had toward its series counterpart. Watchmen could not have been more faithful and direct an adaptation to the graphic novel. Watchmen was exactly what it was supposed to be: dark, depressing, sadistic and menacing. And yet he gives Get Smart a better rating? What a tool.

I guess I'm the only one that agrees agrees with Michael Philips. This movie was mostly painfully unfunny. The audience barely chuckled. I'm sick of seeing comedies where everything relies on people bumping into stuff. It's just one lame gag after another. I've seen that a thousand times before and it just isn't that funny to me. I rather watch something more clever like Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

Seriously, are you 5 years old? Just because you thought it was funny, doesn't mean that I don't have a sense of humor and don't respect Carell. Carell is a great actor and he's fantastic in The Office. I should be ashamed for not liking this movie? You should be ashamed for posting a comment like that.

I loved Get Smart. It was almost as funny as The Pink Panther (2006). I don't know what you were smoking instead of paying attention to the movie but I assure you you have the wrong idea with this movie...either that or no taste.

I often agree with Phillips' reviews, but not this time. Get Smart mixes comedy and action beautifully, and is one of the best movies of its kind. - 3½ Stars.

Ur either blind or have no sense of humor, Get Smart was full of laughs and action and the gags were funny. If you think this movie wasnt aimed for a comedy then you have serious problems. This movie is worth watching, and is very funny

Man, if Phillips has to continue talking sh!t about the wrong movies, I just gotta keep talking sh!t about his reviews on the reviews. Get Smart is very entertaining. I saw the adv screening on Monday. I wasn't fond of the story but it was way too hard to focus on the story when the humor is so good. There is just a small amount of slapstick, nothing major. The Rock does a good job in the beginning, not the end though. I do agree, it's not as good as Kung Fu Panda but this movie IS good.
