once again, I am in agreement with Bobby Heenan. Doink was great because not only was the gimmick wonderful as an evil heel, but Matt Borne was a fantastic old school style wrestler. The Stump Puller was a great simple submission (which here earns him a pinfall) that Borne executed well, as he did with all of his moves.

Evil Doink got too popular and the gimmick was turned face, complete with Santa Claus giving Good Doink his midget sidekick Dink, which is what killed the gimmick. Matt Borne based part of his portrayal of Doink on his father "Tough" Tony Borne's tag team partner "Moondog" Lonnie Mayne.
