"FOLLOW THE SOUND OF MY VOICE" Oye, anyone that's not familiar with Stan Rogers is their own fault. Fooooooor juuuuuuuust ooooooooone tiiiiiiiiiiiiiime.....
@Breiavis Stan was born in NovaScotia a great Canadian ,,songs are all Atlantic canadian deep history ,also the Acadien ,the french that make Louisianna in the south if you check history,,alot of history
@vaughnsalem Stan was born in Ontario. His family's roots were in Atlantic Canada which he fell in love with. Also Cajuns live in Louisianna not Acadians. Cajuns are descendents of deported Acadians.
I am but a Yank, but when the fire burn bright, my friends and I hoist the glasses and sing the songs. It baffles me that so many Canadians I meet are ignorant of this great man's work.
There's just not a lot of radio stations playing his music anymore. A few do, but not many at all. And word of mouth doesn't always cut it. I figure if I post on here some people will be introduced into this kind of music.
Its good to hear that people enjoy it, out of country.
Thanks for putting this up. I never got to see Stan; he was taken from us too soon. It's my belief that he and Gordon Bok are the modern sea music troubadours.
@paisley909: You are in for treat after treat of life changing music if you investigate Stan!

He was pretty great. I've got more songs to come by him as well.
He passed away due to an airplane incident years ago, if u look him up on Wikipedia it explains it better.
