On the other beings it's not that much of a long shot there are millions if not billions of planets in our galaxy. First off I would like to say that this conversation has been rather enjoyable. But I believe that due to human nature having something like Damocles around is asking for trouble. And plus militarily it doesn't make sense. What if there are other beings in the universe that are just as war like as us? Eliminating all weapons on the planet except for the Damocles would leave us very vulnerable.

The thing with Lelouch's plan is that he never planned on leading the world, he planned on DYING and leaving it to his sister, who had an absolutely pure heart. And with Schneizel's successor there is always the possibility that they would succeed in taking over Damocles before it could be destroyed. It's simply too powerful to leave it for humans to use. Neither plan was that good in the respect that they both left too many loose ends.

I don't think Schneizel's plan was that good in terms of how nothing would change. When you look at it as trying to achieve permanent piece, then it is excellent, but nothing would ever change, and as our dear friend lulu put it, you could hardly call it life. While Lelouch's plan isn't much better, at least humanity retained its own will and the ability to move forward. That is what makes human, afterall.

However that arrogant thought is why it worked but besides that he would've been shot down by Orange or someone else but besides that another reason he didnt just fly away and just blow it up is because it would've taken him some time for him to get out of the blast range and if not he wouldve just killed hisself. @kyuubiyura Well see if you put this and the episode where Schniezel first takes over the Damocles it was all about Schniezel trying to put Lulu in check by first taking over the worlds most dangerous weapon at the time, then by giving Nunally the Damocles key, and then by preparing to blow it up. He wanted to leave Lulu without any options thus putting him in check. However Schniezel didnt expectthat Lulu realized he had used the same move from earlier so Lulu countered by using hisself

While schniezel wasnt afraid of dying, he didnt want to die inside the Damocles which is why he had his escape ship ready to leave as his backup plan which lulu anticipated as we saw. As for their plans really Charles's plan was the best out of all 3 however the first two's(not lulu's) eliminated free will
