I did this over and over again from the very beginning of the level, I never died and I was able to destroy the jet with one rocket. I waited for like almost half an hour after the kill and for some reason I still didn't get it. Any ideas?

if you are still trying getting this if you didnt die until you get to the rocket launcher just after you shoot the jet press L1 (for ps3) and watch the jet until is completely destroy and shoot in the same direction as the vid.

Chris is diffently right, do the mission but once you get to the jet sequence, n once u got the stinger Do Not Press the Firing button over and over wait until the beeping goes off and goes target then fire

GUYS I KNOW THE ISSUE THAT IS GOING WRONG WITH THIS! forget about all the other crap you have heard just DO NOT DIE in the jet sequence and then most important of all do NOT...i repeat do NOT try to fire the stinger before it has locked onto the jet! thats what i normally do i keep tapping the right trigger before its locked on so i can fire it straight away but if you do this it registers it as attempts so make sure you only press the right trigger once the stinger has locked on and only ONCE!

Oh, if you die DURING the jet cutscene, you won't get it. Even if you load the checkpoint. You have to restart the whole mission. I finally got the achievement after doing so.

i contacted EA and they said aside from destroying the jet in one attempt, u have to play the entire cutscene and not die during the jet part. so i did exactly that and i finally got it. a couple of other things that i noticed:

1) i died (once) during the mission (before the jet part). hence, i dont think one has to play the whole mission without dying.

2) i did not press pause or fire/reload my gun during the jet part

3) i simply picked up the stinger and fired it right after i had it locked on

It seems that if you die from the jet and restart from the checkpoint that starts off for this trophy then it won't work unless you restart the level

If you're having troubles, I would strongly urge you to first memorize your movement pattern and timing. I.E., watch this video over and over and formulate in your head how you will move from cover to cover. Also, watch the sky! The minute that jet passes over you, you want to be up and running to the next cover. Finally, it's ok to stay right where the Stinger is when you shoot (you won't get hit on that first pass by the jet). As soon as it's over your head, aim and fire when you get tone.

Ok, I tried it again. This time, without pausing it at all. It worked.... It's almost like you have to play straight through, uninterrupted, without dying/pausing/reloading. And don't miss! :-)

@TheMike9105: Also, it might take a while for your missile to hit the jet. Don't fire a second missile because you think it missed, it won't matter anyway because you won't get the achievement if it takes more than 1. Just be patient and wait for it to do it's thing. So to recap: Don't die, don't pause the game during the sequence, and don't miss. :-)

guys, I can confirm that you don't need to die the entire level. I died earlier in the level trying to get the Russian dog tag, then continued playing just to see how and what. So if it doesn't pop for you, bad luck but not because of this.

The randomness of the planes attack is really annoying, I played the level on easy and got killed before I got to the first cover in one play through.. you have to play the whole thing again if you die, which is really annoying.

You CAN get the achievement if you skip the opening cinematic.

DON'T die, I'm not sure if you can get it if you die.

You must do it in ONE shot, wait for the jet to come from the side of the bridge you entered on, as he's turning to come that way, hit him with the stinger whilst he's turning wide.

I got this on easy, and skipping the cinematic, I didn't die though. And it was on "replay mission"

Bro you dont have to do the whole mission without dying just the part where the jet starts to attack you, what i did was as soon as i got the rocket i locked onto the plane, once locked shoot your missle it will look like you missed cause the jet will fly over you an double back once it double backs over the river it will explode. Thus you have your achievement.

When you get to the jeep with the stinger, you gave to stay behind it. Let the plane fly back towered your teammates, grab the stinger. When the jet is coming for you, shoot it and it will immediately drop into the water

@557011 i was playing on hard, saw ur comment above and gave up and was going to try on easy after i beat the mission on hard, i died and my game went black screen so i had to restart the game, when i resumed from checkpoint, i finished it on hard and got the achievement, iv tryed many other times on normal and it would not give it to me, iv died, had to restart my console and resume from a checkpoint on hard mode and it finally gives me it. this is one messed up achievement.

@paschalmaiden i wish i could help you, but this achievement/ trophy has been very random for people. i feel im lucky i got it considering my game froze and i resumed at the end, it seems glitched. try hard mode, then after the plane attacks, restart the game and resume checkpoint, dont worry if you die, its sounds like the complete opposite but thats when it gave it to me. other then that try on easy, then back on normal. its got to give it to you one way or another. iv had too many trys too.

Just like a few of the other achievements (maybe all?) if you fail at any point after the designated "beginning" of the achievement period (in this case, after the jet appears) then you cannot restart from checkpoint, nor can you restart the mission from the pause menu, you must quit to the main menu and begin it again.

It must be done flawlessly, meaning that from the moment the jet appears, you must not die.

To clarify for some who are having trouble, you must not die after spotting the jet. If you die, you start at the checkpoint @ 0:14, and you will not get the achievement/trophy unless you start the whole level over from the start.

0:58 I was in that exact spot and it was working fine at first. The jet shot, missed, and started to fly away. After it flew away, I started to walk to the next part and I RANDOMLY DIED! Terrible glitch. The missions easy, but you can't reload the checkpoint for this achievement so I have to go through all of it a second time.
