My late father use to sing it all the time many years ago. Singing it is giving him more credit than deserved but his heart was in the right place and his interntions were wonderful. I agree with your comment "without love there would be little point to us being here......" Not trying to be Biblical and talk about how the Greeks described 5 types of love but I like this " but have not love, I am nothing " 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 KJV

Thats so odd, my girlfriends grandfather just passed away this past August and he used to sing this song all the time too. They called it the "poppa" song. Before they took his body from the funeral home his kids and grandkids stood around him and sang it for him, it was beautiful.
