Was several years my trainer kurt de pauw is still the best from belgium this fight was in the hevy devision plus 95 kg his normal class was minus 72 kg where he was 4 times world champion so respect to the man who tried to beat the best in this time in a class that is not his kurt you have my respect for always !!!!!
Its Kurt De Pauw vs Ashwin Balrack,,if you see good he is actually KO but still standing,no seizure or sommething, just somme punches who landed good,he just loses the north.
Looks really scary but I doubt the is any brain damage. My guess is that's it's some kind of seizure, like some one mentioned. I've seen guys with epilesy get minor siezures and they react in a similar way: they loose all contact with the outer world and just carry on doing what they did before the seizure.
Really fucking bad job by the ref too, he didn't even give him a count the first time he went down.
This is scary to see. This happened in a soccer match also (and it's on youtube) where a dude got such a hard kick that he fell down stood up and started walking backwards. very scary
well actually the guy in football never got hit, he suffered a heart attack, and when u look at the video on the football pitch, it looked like something was holding him by the neck and pulling him back!! a lot of people believe "death" was taking his soul...
the man in the video you're talking about died. he broke his neck or back. the contorting you see is probably a muscle spasm (the muscles of your neck and back are incredibly powerful). this guy looks like he took a few to many shots(knees). the ref didnt look like he was much of a fight ref when he laughed at the man before they realized what had happened and he was clinching on him. the doctor looked like a legit doctor, but he should have been in there when he clinched the ref right away
Actually, after gathering some more information the soccer player didn't die. He suffered a (severe) Seizure when he got the kick on his head. Injured? no, he played another games just 1 or 2 days later when he came out of hospital.
I even think this MMA player is more injured then the soccer player I just spoke about. This brings serious permanent brain damage. The soccer player seemed to just recover from the blow. This is not
Generally with the smaller MMA gloves you get knocked out so much faster that you take a lot less cumulative brain damage. Boxers by comparison use big pillow gloves and take blow after blow after brain numbing blow. You won't see career MMA guys ending up like career boxers (as a whole - mileage may vary on individuals).
Yes that is correct, however boxers don't get punched as much in the back of the head as like MMA fighters do.
Getting punched in the back of the head is a more proficient way of getting brain damage, especially concerning you sight. I don't remember his name but a Japanese fighter actually got blind after an MMA fight when he received a couple of blows to the back of the head.
boxers suffer greater brain damage than mmma fighters do historically, but mma is becoming more popular, so we'll have to see how the trend goes. boxing gloves arent pillows compared to mma gloves. they're designed to do different things entirely, so they're tough to compare. mma gloves really are there to protect the knuckles. boxers use an incredible amount of padding (tape and foam) before they put their gloves on, giving them big heavy hands. "heavy padded clubs" sounds more like it
The typical boxer starts out way earlier than the typical MMA fighter so boxers have more time to get injured. Also boxers fight more than MMA fighters.
Btw; the "padding" you were talking about is actually hand wrappings, they compress your hands to make them harder and less fragile. So it's not really padding but more like protection for your hands.
@casse82 cause MMA is more man hugging, plus MMA fighters aren't as developed and as hard trained as a pure thai fighter or boxer, if a pure boxer or thai fighter went into MMA with those 4oz gloves one punch or kick and it's over.

This looks scarier than it is. There is no brain damage invloved as far as I know, just what's called muscle memory.

never do mauy thai more mma all these peole get handicap and get brain injuries for life.
lasog341 4 years ago
second that. mma rules. although there just recently was a death in a sanctioned fight in mma (Sammy Vasquez), it generally feels like a safer sport.
casse82 4 years ago
mma is bad as well. Scary stuff. I was a fighter for a long time effected my brain.
lasog341 4 years ago
Fighting is always dangerous. But between these two mma is supposedly less intense on your head than muay thai.
casse82 4 years ago
Although he gloves you use in MMA are way smaller, so I don't think so. Also punches to the back of the head are more common in MMA.
