  • Anyone else strangely feel like trying to find some history books after hearing this?

  • This would go great with a Rocky montage.

  • I always wondered why you didn't put Feena's theme first. Unless this song is what got you fully into the game for the first time.

  • reminds me of the Golden Axe Theme

  • Gamemusicfreak, where did you get the artwork for this video from? they're really nice, and I'd like some higher resolution versions of the pics you used in the video, without having to rip them directly from youtube. I was wondering if you could hook me up with a link or something or atleast give me the name of the artwork book you got these from.

    Thanks, M3z.

  • @MEzm3r1z3 Hey, most of the images I used are from the Ys "Material Super Collection" disc that came with the Limited Edition of Ys Eternal (PC). I don't have a reliable PC right now, so unfortunately that's all the help I can offer at the moment.

I'll be getting a new system soon, so I'll keep your message in mind.

  • note to self, find and play these games immediately.

  • hey, would you mind uploading the song that plays in the shops in Ys I? I can't find it anywhere...

  • there is a tune i remember hearing from this game during a part where you walk into a long hallway-like room and immediately start losing health and die very quickly. is there any chance you could upload that song? i think the level was inside of a tower, right after a fight with a praying mantis boss. sorry I cant be more specific it has been so long.

  • @dpl8871 Hello! I know the tune, and have it, it's called "Devil's Wind." The song was remade also for Ys Origin. I'll see about getting it up as soon as possible. Including footage from the area in the tower.

Please keep watching, and thanks for your comment!

  • haha i loved the soundtrack to this game!!

  • Some prefer the patpend version but this still according to me is the superior one ! . It doesn't mean using every music with electric guitar makes it good it doesn't it just make the music having that damn metal feel to it which disgust me .......

  • I like the Ice Ridge of Noltia better :X

  • This is EPIC, this is UMONGOUS!

Nothing more fun then hear that FANTASTIC music while smashing monster in a grass field, man, I can spend all my life doing it.

  • Yuzo Koshiro FTW

  • Take notice of when this game actually came out, it was so MUCH better than even n64 music.

  • I played it on SMS and TG16. The TG16 made the soundtrack better because it was actually CD-quality music with a real orchestra (as I recall). That was huge back then.

Or at least if it wasn't orchestra, but by being on CD, the music quality could be expanded versus the cartridges or cards.

  • Patpend this patpend that, BLEH!

This song as is = EPICLICIOUS.

Sure guitar covers are awesome, yet these conversions are more epic.

    Don't deny it. Its awesome.

  • Anyone who wants to hear how TRULY epic this song can be... should check out "patpend" on Y-tube here.

His Ys covers are AWESOME. Seriously. Go check it out--you'll TRIP. :)

  • @greytale electric guitar does NOT convey epicness to everyone. I personally HATE IT. I checked out what you said, and it's perfectly disgusting. This music has an uplifting feel of running through green fields and bright sun guiding your way, whereas patpend's just sounds EVIL to me. Please don't go around preaching how much better one version of a song is in comparison to another. It's fine if you like it, but others like me might prefer this one. (elec squeals to me = scary and bad, so yeah.)

  • Where can I get the arranged soundtrack? :)

  • Honestly? Just look for and buy the TurboGrafx / PC-Engine game disc and then use Nero or some similar software to rip the audio tracks. (iTunes will not rip TG 16 CDs)

  • @JasonWardStudios

You sure about that? I've ripped music from Gate/Lords of Thunder as well as a more than a few Saturn games from iTunes. Gotta love Redbook audio.

  • If you've got a wii, you can download it for 8 bucks on the virtual console.

  • I remember hunting down a Turbo Duo just to play this game again after my TurboCD died. Awesomeness!!

  • Did you get Rondo too?

  • PC Engine Version No.1!!!

  • This version of FSTW is by far the best IMO.

One of THE best game music themes of all time!

  • Holy overworld music...

  • Ys is one of my favoret games series of all time.

  • Nice...I love the field music of the first Ys TG16 release...first RPG I played and probably my favorite for all time...especially from a music standpoint!

  • Nice music. Never played any of the Ys games, so I'll probably check out the one that just came out for the Virtual Console.

Random Question: How are you supposed to pronounce "Ys"?

  • like "ease" lol np btw

  • It's pronounced "ease"

  • The pronunciation is not quite like "ease". The Japanese pronunciation is i-su, so it sounds like ees (rhymes with jeez).

  • That's still not right. It's pronounced like "piece" only without the 'p.'

  • Amazing as hell.

  • BEST...GAMETUNE...EVER!!!

  • Whoa kickass overworld theme O__O

  • sure is bro

  • man...i still rember playin this for the 1st time....ups is here.....YEAY!!!!

  • best music evar

  • One of my favorite games. You should check out the CD quality versions of these songs from the anime.

  • I'll probably add those when I get a few more game tracks up.

  • I love it too! I'll try to cover the entire Ys series. The music alone deserves more exposure, and the games are just as incredible.

  • This is always will be my favorite music! Thanks for uploading it. ^^
