Why are filmmakers always so reluctant to tell the really awesome stories from their source material? I mean, look at the original stories from the comics. There's some crazy stuff going on in those. Instead we get the origin? Again?? Maybe it's a budget thing. Can't have your movie take place on alien worlds or in other dimensions when you don't have the money to pull it off convincingly. The only way I'm OK with an origin story is when this turns out to be a series of films. Like a trilogy.

The reason why they are doing another Origin story is because this is basically going to be (another) reboot. Why? Probably because they want a big more darker themed movie and after all the kid friendly ones, it would just plain be weird to make a new one dark. Peter Laird said that the idea was to make a movie similar to The Dark Knight. If thats the case don't think you will see Krang or really any of the villains from the old 87 cartoon. Which is probably a good thing.

The new movie will have the CG of "Lord of the Rings" epic detail for the turtles/live action. It's a reboot aimed for the original mirage studios comic books. It'll be bloody violent and dark. Straight to the source material of how the story is supposed to be with the characters.

1st i was born in 1987 , second I think the CGI film is better then turtles 3, not 1 or 2 I think Turtles 1 is the best followed by turtles 2, than TMNT and finally Turtles 3. turtles 3 had a bad story, bad digolog, the jokes weren't no were funny as in turtles 1 or 2, and the bad guys were a Samuri warlord, and a cowboy. At lest TMNT the Foot Ninjas and Kari.

The first movie was more mature. There was swearing, darker theme, violence, etc. It was just bad ass. After the first movie a lot of parents complained it was too violent so they tuned it down, that's why 2 and 3 are a complete JOKE!

I thought the First and fourth movies were the best of the bunch. The second suffered the popularity of the cartoon (MIB II had the same problem, as did Ghostbusters 2) and the Third was slightly better, but lack the GOOD animatronics that Jim Henson's creature shop gave us.

An idea if they do make it an origin movie. And if they wanted to do a reboot.

The turtles and splinter go through their mutations and just want to live peacefully in the sewers of NYC. But that peace is disrupted by The Rat King, who feels like the turtles are moving in on his territory and posing a threat to his rats. After The Rat King and his minions attack the turltes home, splinter decides to train the turtles to be ninjas, to go up against the rat kings forces.

They're planning to have live action bodies but CGI the turtles faces, so their expression are more real and less puppet-like. Just like how they did Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean. So they are going to use live-action and then add to their expressions through CGI. I think that's great considering how awesome and real Davy Jones turned out.
