On a related note, USNA students don't get to do most of this stuff, only their graduates...and you can get the same opportunities through ROTC. Go to Texas A&M and you can choose which one you want: Army, Navy, OR Air Force. No point in pigeonholing yourself into one service at 18 when you don't have to!

BTW, A&M is better than all the academies...football too...

apply to the Naval Academy itself, and if they think that you need to go to NAPS, then they'll send you there. But all admission for the prep school come from people who apply to the Academy itself first.

you don't sign up for usna you have to receive a nomination from your congressman or senators. plebe summer is the summer before your freshmen year at usna or plebe year. and yes you do have to do plebe summer its a rite of passage

Ok, The United States Naval Academy is a college, so during your junior year you get into contact with your blue and gold officer. You attend Plebe Summer after Senior year, it is a summer of training before you can attend the Academy it is required.

Honestly, other than that, just try to show that your extremely motivated. Visit the Academy if you can, apply for the summer seminar in your junior year, contact the admissions office to get the contact info of your blue and gold officer, etc. Feel free to ask me if you have any additional questions.

Make sure you participate in sports if you don't have another large after school commitment. Track is a great idea. I do track too. Also, having leadership roles in school is extremely important. Try to be president, vice president or some other kind of officer in a school club or student government office. Keep up with the JROTC and try to be a leader in that. Doing well in that program would really help your chance of acceptance.

If ur asking for advice, just make sure you do really well on the SATs and/or ACTs while taking advanced courses. A "B" in honors or AP is better than an "A" in regular.

f-16 is currently in use in the navy and in ten years is to be replaces by a modified version of the jsf, though the f-18 will be in servise for a much longer time, but the a-10 is only air force you are correct on that
