  • Dead sexy

  • I just realized... most of their hits from 1965-1967 had a rather Eastern Meiteranean feel to them. (Greek? Israeli?)

  • I absolutely ADORE this song, have from the first time I heard it as a 12 year old kid!!! :D

  • Me, too!

  • Awesome song! Great outfits and stage presence. The crowd is cool too.

  • The band has the perfect music for any Grindhouse soundtrack. Thanks to Tarantino for re-introducing this band to the world. A new generation of fans will give this band all the respect they deserve.

  • opa

  • fuckin awesome!

  • What i really liked about this group was that their songs were always different.....they never relied on one format.

    R.I.P. Dave Dee

  • This sure beats Barbara Eden's (I Dream of Jennie) version of this song.

  • How the hell did these guys not hit it big in the United States. R.I.P. Dave Dee.

  • @jfbluges ...well said, i cant believe i had never heard any of their songs until Quentin Tarrantino's Death Proof movie

  • @amphaynes ::::me too!! i love hold tight! :D

  • @jfbluges this song was banned in the US, the F.C.C. said it had a strong sexual theme lol

  • @jfbluges This track is based on an old Greek song called 'Zorba the Greek' Have a listen. You'll hear the similarity

  • They're funky!

  • RIP DAve - just heard on the news today - 9/1/09 - that Dave Dee had died - not too old I presume??? Was it cancer??? Is he the singer??? Loved the music from 60's groups

  • Dave Dee died of prostrate cancer aged 65 years old.

  • As a kid growing up in the 1960's yhis lot were "my band" always great fun with a catchy tune & a fantastic bassline.

Thanks for the memories & RIP Dave.

  • Rest in Peace Dave - awesome stuff.

  • RIP Dave Dee. Legend.

  • No disrespect intended, but it at least explains why DDDBM&T greatest hits was on sale full price in Asda last summer.

  • RIP... DAVY DEE

  • haha so good! :D!

  • NICE SONG!

  • Cool

  • Wow look at those clothes, they look like costumes from a futuristic movie from the 60's, guess it wasn't so futuristic if people were wearing it already lol. Song is awesome btw :D.

  • IS IT A GREEK SONG?

  • No, though it took its inspiration from Greek traditional dance music at a time (1966) when Greece was just beginning to become popular as a holiday destination.

  • No, not a Greek song but inspired by "La Dance de Zorba / Zorba's dance performed by trio Hellenique and also by Mikis Theodorakis (film soundtrack).

Search on U-tube for: Zorba the Greek - Zorbas Dance (Movie Scene - High Quality).

What a golden move this was by Dave-Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich!!! And a bit later they used the same formula for their hitsong "Okay" which you can also see/hear on U-tube..

    cheers, Leo

  • it uses a greek instrument by the looks/sounds of it. It sounds very much like the song in lockstock and 2 smoking barrels.

  • BEST OF BRITISH 60S

  • these pants are pretty colorful, doncha think? :)

    love the song!

  • Could be "Snake in the Grass"?

  • There is another song this band sings I really like Its like "Watch your step!" in the course does anyone know the name of it?

  • Could be "Snake in the Grass"

  • The words were so clever because they were deeply suggestive without anyone being able quite to say why.

  • Some of those dancing girls look hot and horny. I bet they're old ladies now.

  • .. believe me .. they are still hot and horny, and it seems they will **always** be hot and horny ..

  • I hope so.

  • according to a friend this was banned in the US

  • haha thats funny looking at all the crap American singers put out there

  • was there a specific reason for being banned?

  • the innuendo

  • Great song !!

  • They got a mention in Tarantino's new film "Death Proof"

  • yee they have there Hold tight

  • Greatest Band of the late 60's.

  • lol@ the trousers.

They seem to be hugely enjoying it and not be too serious which has to be a good thing.

  • Meine Mutter hat sie life gesehen in Bremen mein Gott wäre ich nur in den 60ern aufgewachsen

  • i meant the movie lock stock and two smoking barrels

  • Nope, that's "Zorba the greek" - a lot of greek folk follows a similar pattern. See also "The Cheese Shop" bu Monty Python.

  • is this song in long stock and two smoking barrels???? its a little different, just the guitar playing, but it sounds so similar

  • There other 2 killer songs Legend Of Xanadu,

    Hold Tight

  • Oh man, these guys songs are fantastic and catchy!.

  • Seen them a few times and can't stay sitting just stand clap and sing!

  • This was one of my favorite songs from my childhood. Well, at least it was one of the most memorable ones anyway--along with "They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!" b/w "!aaaH-aH ,yawA eM ekaT oT gnimoC er'yehT" (the song backwards), by Napoloeon XIV; "Tip Toe Through The Tulips," by Tiny Tim; "Little Arrows," by Leapy Lee, and "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah (Camp Granada)" by Allen Sherman.

  • I'd like to get the song on CD, if anyone out there knows if it, or a Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich LP is available, or even an .mp3 or .wav file of "Bend It?"

  • If you look them up on lastfm I think there are several cds of theirs listed.

  • "They're Coming to Take Me Away" is an unsung classic. Now I'm off to "the funny farm, where life is beautiful All the time and I'll be happy...". You know how it ends.

  • That was Napoleon the XIVth!

  • Wow Great sound !! I love their songs. Thanks for posting !!!!!!!!

  • legend of xanadu and don juan are their greatest hits..

  • Super oldie, one of the best.

  • Wow .. somehow in a distant memory, I broke into my Dad's stack 'o Playboys and remember reading something about DDDBM&T and this song. I always thought it was at 'Hef's mansion in Chicago. Anyone with access to the 1966 era Playboy's may know the definitive answer.

  • saw them in leeds last weekend. Still cracking thr whip for Xanadu and the original Tich and Dozy as well as Dave Dee. He said this song got banned in the USA.

  • Sounds like they went on holiday to Mykonos and listened to some sixties bouzouki...

  • Yes - but, if so, it was at a time when Greece as a holiday destination was quite an adventure. And Mykonos was still a pretty innocent place, not yet a wild gay sex resort. Yet the words of Bend It were very daring for 1966, though their exact meaning is slightly mysterious - deliberately so I think.

  • Love this and love them :D

  • suuuuper co jak wygladaja lub jak graja dzisiejsze trzepomózgi
