as fishermen know right handers use left winders. you cast with your right and change hands. this is always changing hands where you could miss a strike. he's a pro and doing it right.
I used to have it set somewhat tight but now I can loosen it up however loose I want it without any backlashes.. I can't tell you the last time I backlashed!
i tryed this on my baitcaster and it didnt work at all! if i move the brake anywhere except the highest point i get tons of backlash! what am i doing wrong?
@gnomehater63 You're probably whipping your rod too hard like a Spinning reel. I know, I came from that world too. When you cast your baitcasting reel/rod, it should be a natural flow. If you're not getting the distance from the cast then it's your reel/rod. Try spending at least $300 for combo and you'll see a significant difference. Here's a big tip. Throw your farthest cast and pull out 15-20feet. Put a piece of tape inside. This will prevent more backlash and digs.
all u bait caster fisher man help! im new to baitcasters and i have a question. it seems when ever i use a plastic my line doesnt rap around the reel very tight, which makes the line easer to dig into the spool because baitcasting reels have a horizontal spool, this never happens when im using a rapala or a spinner because there is always resistance on the line when retrieving so it stays nice and tight. help!!
uhh i just got one and dont know the names of the stuff yet, is it the star looking thing? or the round thing under it? or the round thing on the opposite side?

As a right handed person, why are you using a left handed reel?

@gibbygoo maybe he used a spinner reel as a kid and reeling with his left hand is like writing with his right.

@gnomehater63 Put your thumb on the spool before it hits the water or maybe just let your thumb barley touch the spool when casting.

@HATINTHEKAT the round part under the star, the star looking thing is the drag

how does the magnetic drag work?
thebassfisher911 1 year ago
@thebassfisher911 if it's an older ABU reel it's the one on the opposite side of the crank.

Yeah, that is how to adjust the tension knob, not the brake.
nieten7642 1 year ago
LOL dont you mean the Tension knob, The braking does not slow the fall...
