Those soldiers were brave men and they will never be forgotten. They fought for freedom and peace and made a lot of sacrifices. I thank them. I am proud to be a Canadian. On Remembrance Day I will wear my poppy in honour of my great grandfather and all the other soldiers who fought.

Vimy Ridge was a Pyrrhic victory. Enough said. We won a muddy hill at the expense of thousands of lives. If they wanted to defeat Germany just kick your heels in and starve them out.
I'm guessing that you failed history class? On the plus side we would not have had to fight World War 2, since World War 1 would still have been ongoing......Hitler would still have been a Cpl.
Why are you impolite like this men ?? Those men were heroes, they've done what the others couldn't and they did it right. They were Canadians and they won, we are not talking about Verdun or La Somme or what you want, we are talking of this battle and they did a great job. Peace to their soul.
@AVTTV they didn't give extreme amounts of effort at vimy. the allied army i respect the most at vimy ridge are the morrocans who in 1915 did in fact capture the summit of vimy ridge and held it for several hours, but had to leave by the end of the day because the french division that was suppose to reinforce them never made it to the battle. and this was not even the same vimy ridge battle, this one here had happened 2 years prior.
@AVTTV what a spammer you are. also seems to me that you have no valid counterclaim so you reverted to trying to name call me. sorry pal, i no longer get angry to trolls. also, how many died doesn't prove how much effort someone put in. the french first off had a much larger army, second, the french and british had the worst tactics in the war, they fought old school. third, you may as well say the french put more effort than canadians at 2nd ypres based on that more french died there.
@AVTTV at 2nd ypres, only the canadians and algerians were brave enough to stand up to the gas cloud, the algerians were decimated, canada only survived because some british finally did arrive, even though the then brigadier general currie had been asking for british assistance for 2 days and in reply the british commander snow said "do you expect me to wet nurse you?" the french had a couple of successes at verdun and the opening phases of the somme but definitely not at vimy.
@ultradumbass A spammer? I made a spelling error, corrected it, and forgot to delete the first one. You're saying it doesn't matter how many lives were lost, that it doesn't show effort, but instead you're saying that the tactics used determined the effort. Yeah right! I'm anything but a spammer, and definately not a troll, so what the hell are you talking about. By the way, I never said the French were one bit successful at Vimy, I said they tried.
@AVTTV spell definitely correctly. don't like being corrected do you? by the way i won't use capitals, check my profile, i even wrote there why i won't do it. also you are contradicting yourself by your last comment. you said "the allies weren't successful at vimy but they tried." you may as well say then the british "tried" by having a few gun pieces. that doesn't mean a few guns made much of a difference at vimy. so basically you just agreed to my original comment and don't even know it.
@ultradumbass Wow. Can you read? I never said the allies, I said French. Think about 1812 (The North American one.). Every single cannon or rifle DID make a difference as did every single artillery barrage or bombing run in the World Wars. By the way, just saying you don't use capitals doesn't mean anything. I was trying to help your then grammar, now laziness.
@AVTTV lol, me being too lazy to make capitals is not the same because one, i do it on purpose, and two there i no spelling error, so when i write on microsoft which does the capitalising for you immediately, you won't see spelling mistakes. second, you did the same errors several times over again before i finally corrected you, so i knew it was not just you merely mistyping your keyboard. and third i only do it to those who revert to name calling because they know they've lost their argument.
@ultradumbass Oh. I see where you're coming from. In my FIRST comment I said allies, but only because we were talking about the -->Allies<--. Also, I can't believe you actually think that just because you admit you're lazy, and that some programs will "Do it for you" that it's correct. "you did the same errors several times over again before i finally corrected you". What error? What corrections?
Obviously you don't just do it to people that call you a name, you clearly said that on your profil
@ultradumbass "lol [Needs capital], me being too lazy to make capitals is not the same because one, i [Needs capital] do it on purpose, and two [Needs comma] there i [Forgot an S] no spelling error, so when i [Needs capital] write on microsoft [Needs capital] [Needs comma] which does the capitalising for you immediately, you won't see spelling mistakes. second, [Needs capital] you did the same errors [It's actually singular] several times over again before i [Needs capital]
@ultradumbass finally corrected you, so i [Needs capital] knew it was not just you merely mistyping [Not a word] your keyboard [Improper verb]. and [Needs capital] [Can't start with "And"] third [Needs comma] i [Needs capital] only do it to those who revert to name calling because they know they've lost their argument.
P.S. If you really wanna prove something, try a less painful to read option.
@AVTTV on youtube "lol" it is, also you misspelled profile and "program". it is spelled as "programme" in north america, and based on what you said on the first reply i take it that you are canadian right? also, you sent the last 2 paragraphs to yourself, big failure there, i also notice that you haven't mentioned anything about your original reply, now you are trailing off because you know you've lost an argument.
PS: sending extra paragraphs doesn't mean you won, it means you're annoying.
@ultradumbass First point: LOL is an acronym. Second point: I hit the character count. Third point: Depends on which dictionary you follow. Fourth point: I did in fact send you all of them, it just doesn't show that it did. Fifth point: What? I've brought it up many times. Sixth point: It was proof that you need to work on more than just capitals. P.S.: PS is Post Script, therefore an acronym and ergo, needs periods. P.P.S. You ARE an ultra dumbass.
@AVTTV repeat the last part in english or french please? because i don't see any errors here. and me not capitalising is me being lazy, not me not knowing how to spell:) and i see you haven't mentioned anything about vimy two paragraphs in a row. now you are trying to crawl away because you saw you came up with a shitty argument. but i can't blame a twelve year old who gets picked on at school seeking attention like yourself. i'll give you dignity, and you can have the last word kid. go for it:)

thats true, the Canadians did what the British couldn't and that was to take that damned ridge, the rolling artilley barrage was brilliant though!!!!
