I doubt many of the victims of slavery ever sung about Jesus, which makes me laugh, because I know many people feel the exact opposite - precisely because they were brought up to believe otherwise.

yeah, each season they have used a different version of this song.. they used the Tom Waits original in season 2, it's the version I like best.
