@panrz They originally took their stylistic cues from the ska-boys and skinheads in Britain, but developed their own style as their numbers grew. We had a lot of hard-nut Sharpies in '70s inner-city Sydney. The main unifying feature was the hair - very short all over, with a 'fringe' of sorts at the back. (the same haircut that Punk girls often have in the UK!) The term comes from their desire to always 'look sharp' which was ironic since they were mostly badly dress Westies and Bogans!)
I was only about 10 when the sharpies and skins were at their peak. Little kids could walk around the suburbs in perfect safety because of these guys.
I remember the sharpies in my area used to hang round the fish and chip shop. My mates and I were running around as kids do and these three teenagers tripped me up and sent me sprawling on the footpath. The sharpies gave them a brutal hiding.
Yeah !! Proud peoples the sharpies and skins , as so the rude boys and mods , soulboys . WE are all conected and respected . Are scooters will cross all paths but in the end we will look back and say this is wot my cult did and what his cult that gave my cult did and so on and so forth . Keep the sprit matey .

Good to have the memories.
A lot are dead, mostly from moving to drugs.
No future, all revved up with nowhere to go but the street corner.

The sharpies originated from the old Collingwood Boys of the 60s. Very bad bunch...

They had a strong sense of honour. You don't hurt women and you don't hurt kids.
Well that's my experience of them anyway.
