Politicians don't know shit about economics. United states becoming more like socialist country now. Government, Education system, Economy is all down the drain now. Government collects almost half of what you earn, then they just blow it all in some useless wars, bailing out shitty companies that should've gone out of business and some nonsense bs. Let the free market decide. I wouldn't be surprised if they put a breathometer and started taxing the air I breathe in n out.
Really this video does not see that that man in the white house is doing, he is doing nothing but trying to do good for us but yeah you still have barriers out there
and don't forget the democrats had the MAJORITY of power for the last year, and got NOTHING done, so now he's blaming the republicans, when in fact it's Obama's bullshit.
fred thomson must've paid a lot for that canned speech, I agree with him, but he never would've had the balls to follow through on his rhetoric if he got the job.
How exactly can big government solve the problem that big government created?
The myth that "government creates jobs" needs to be exposed as the horrendous LIE it is. PEOPLE create jobs, the same people that bailed out the banks. And stimulus is NOT spending.
That said, the blame needs to be placed EQUALLY upon both the GOP and the Democrats. They are now BOTH parties of big government, and we need representatives who abhor government spending, and want to restore rights and sound money.
Too many historians use partisanship to determine whether or not what politicians did was right. They don't dig deeper to look at the actual results. It's a real shame. I was reading my textbook on the Reagan Administration, and the stuff they said regarding the economy was just outrageous! They made it seem like the sky was falling from 1980-88. They didn't even mention how we got out of the 80s recession in just a few years under Reagan. Now, the 80s weren't perfect, but come on.
"Only government", eh Obama? That's funny, esp. considering that until 1913, we were a largely DEREGULATED economy, and yet, we were able to get out of most recessions in 6 years or less. Yes, we had bank panics, but we really only had like 5 or 6 of them spread out over 100+ years. And many of the even pre-1913 recessions were cuased by gov't regulation. The first post-1789 recession we had was caused by an embargo act that our congress passed! Shove Keynesianism up your ass, Obama.
The battles that you thought "had already been resolved" were only "resolved" by liberal historians and idiot economists. True economic experts knew the truth: the New Deal prolonged the Depression. For whatever reason (maybe b/c a lot of them are professors or have master's degrees), historians in America tend to be liberals or Dems. Therefore, obviously they're going to praise big government presidents and ignore smaller-gov't ones who were actually right.
The Gov't has NO business messing in the private sector! Look at history. The way we got out of the recession in the 80s was to cut taxes and stop gov't intervention and size! DAMNIT! Obama is screwing us over. I fucking hate socialists.
If you investigate this situation, you'll see that the government, if anything, is making the problem worse. A $787 billion stimulus package is a big package, even for a black man. The GOP would make an even bigger mess of things, if they were in power. Store up some survival supplies, now. No one is going to stop the crash and burn of the USA . The GOP and the Dems are the flip side of the same coin. This has been brewing for 100 years and has been accelerating for the past 60 years.
It's amazing that Laffer is actually right for once. Even his curve was 200 years old before he decided to take credit for it.
The only "stimulus" that can take us out of this depression (yes, with a "D") is to default on the bad debt and I have a feeling that a tax revolt or bond dislocation will force us to do that. I think that we will be forced to deflate before we have much inflation, if any.
Yay! First comment! Thank you so much for your videos. As a libertarian, it's quite refreshing to see another fellow who is supportive of markets and laissez faire capitalism. In a country (and a world) seemingly moving more and more to a command economy, we seem like minorities.
P.S. That "only government" thing you did repeatedly sounded cool, but the fact that our president is actually saying that scares the pants off of me. Wait a minute, I'm already not wearing any pants. :X

H. Obama isn't doing this through economic priciples. It's through his crooked ideology and we're all going to pay for it.

Where is the money for this "stimulus" coming from? If it's increasing our national debt that means we're borrowing it from someone.
How do we pay it back?
Art Laffer is right - we can't consume our way out of this recession. We're broke.
