  • Great film!

Slike kommentarer er verdt all ventinga.

  • Thanks to all of you, for your comments!

  • the egg will hatch on 2years, 30 minutes lifespan, i wonder, how do they multiply that fast if they will only live on 30 minutes???

  • @princejoab

Some myflies reproduce twice a year, and some every second year. I have not found any that lives for only 30 minutes. In Norway the mayflies live from 2 days up to a week, and some even longer, due to temperature, size and spieces.

  • Awesome footage!!

  • they are like dragonflies (my favorite animal) yet they live only 24 hours which is amazing to me.

    Carpe Diem!

  • they told ya i guess.... man that is such a great piece of work !

  • they don`t like it when you pick them up by the wings

  • these insects are the animals with the shortest lifespan so if 1 mayfly is born today at 5 pm it will die like 5 pm. the next day.

  • No, thats wrong. Some mayflies can live up to one whole week. But normaly just a few days.

It depends wich specie of mayfly we talk about. Like Baetis rhodani can live up to three days.

  • fluebinder stop telling me i am wrong and stop trying to be a "Mr. Know it all"

I am not posting my opinion. I am posting information from the national gergraphic magazine. Learn not to give people a thumbs down rating until you are pretty certain about the information.

  • lol your dumb

  • mtichon your mom :)

  • I have been a very active flyfisher for over 5 years, and i know my biology. Newspapers doesn`t always give you correct information,

Mayflies are the biggest type of may`s we have here in norway... They live 2 years hidden on the bottom of the river or lake, and then hatch, and life longer than 24 hours before they die.... Smaller species of may`s, like baetis rhodani, live in 1 year, and can hatch 2 times in one season... If they get a hot summer, they will manage a second generation

  • Actually, that just counts for the adult stage of the mayfly. Some live for years in their larval stage before becoming a short-lived adult.

  • Doesn't matter, the dam tons of eggs they lay'll hatch and swarm like crazy. Shoulda squashed that lil guy.

  • some last as long as a half hour.

  • beautiful job

  • They should be called "Transformers" or "Transformers 2" in your case :-) Well done. Thanks for posting this! What kind of equipment you use for filming this (macro)?

  • We call them "Junebugs" and "Fishflies" were I live. They don't do anything, they just swarm to the streetlights :p they're disgusting if you ask me!

  • This is amazing! In tropical countries, there's no seasonal emergence cos it's warm all year round so it's pretty difficult to spot a mayfly emerging.

  • adult males only live for like a day and dont eat! they just mate and die! whoooaaaa

  • filmer du fra et studio av og til, eller er alt ting du "snubler" over i naturen?

  • Hei grilldress. Alle naturopptakene er stort sett planlagte opptak med mye venting, og filmet ute i naturen.

  • its beautiful! my first time seeing this

  • excellent job filming this!
