I just love any song that Ray Stevens sings. I wish they had the Grand Ole Opry on a television station. I am a 84 year old widow and I love country music and see the performers. So please some one start a television station that we all can see the wonderful country music shows on a lonely day or night.
As soon as I heard Ray's arrangement (when it was first released), I knew I would never again enjoy the Johnny Mathis version.

I loved this. I love that song, too. I didn't know about his Grammy, but he sure deserved one.

One thing I don't quite understand is why Ray re-recorded everything? What was wrong with the originals?

@nyshortline
I'm with you on that one. The original (cover) version of Misty was lovely.

I grew up on the original blues / jazz version from my dad & this country version from mom. Love them both! (I'm also a big Ray Stevens fan)
