I'm a devoted canucks fan and not a luongo hater by any means but i can tell you he is very inconsistent, especially in pressure situations. He will have an amazing game one night and the next night completely fall apart. He had the worst shootout save percentage of any starting goalie last season and near the bottom the 3 previous seasons. I feel bad for him because the fans are really ragging on him lately but theres a reason they do, i just hope he picks his game up we need him!

Boston's win was from their toughness, and also Vancouver probably was beat up and maybe emotionally spent after prior rounds. They're luck to have beaten Chicago.

He's abig-enough guy that he does not need to come out so far to cut down the angle, and also does not need to go to the ice quite as much. If he hates losing enough, he'll grow stronger from the experience of losing the cup when it was so close. Schneider is a capable back-up and Vignault should have a quicker hook if Bobby Luo isn't on his game. 'Course, I'm a Hawks fan so why I am telling you guys this?

Kesler used to draw attention away from his abilities with some of the stupid things he's said, but he decided to focus on hockey this year. I think that he has been, and remains, a relatively high-caliber NHL goaltender, but that, at least pretty much from his entrance as a Canuck, he has been quite overhyped for quite a while amongst the media, sports analysts, the fans, etc...
Aside from that, I do believe that he, at least, has been one of the relatively upper-tier goaltenders in the NHL, although that has seemed to have been subject to some speculation as of fairly late...

Why do some assholes think Luongo is overrated. So if a goalie has a 20 game win streak, only allowing zero or 1 goal per game. Then finally letting in 8 goals to snap his win streak, he's a crappy player? Does that make sense? These people have no respect for pro athletes. Better yet, these people are probably the same people who got dropped from every minor league hockey team. That's why they're complaining.

Burrows was in the right place at the right time, and he didn't miss, but if Patrick Sharp's shot a few minutes before hadn't missed by a couple of inches, things would have ended differently. Hey - bring on the new season! I'm ready for more hockey... it is too long a summer without the NHL. Good thing for NHL on the Fly rebroadcasts.

Luongo might very well do better some place else than Vancouver, where the expectations are so high - but Vancouver can't move his anchor of a contract, not without eating most of it. Schneider is ready to be a #1 goalie, wonder what the Canucks do then? Failure to win isn't Bobby Luo's only; the expectations are crushing in Vancouver, which can suck the air right out of a team come playoff time.

The only reason to go to a Canucks game is to chang "LUUUUU" everytime he makes a great save, and that's pretty often. the "Lu" chanting originally came from the BC Lions punter Lou Passaglia. I hope the Canucks hang onto Lu for a few more years, I think he enjoys it here so I don't see why he'd want to go anywhere else.

Good goalie, but dives and whines too much. More people might actually respect him for his abilities if he didn't keep enforcing his reputation as a flopper. Kesler used to draw attention away from his abilities with some of the stupid things he's said, but he decided to focus on hockey this year. Kudos to him, and I think he's earned massive amounts of respect. Too bad Luongo isn't smart enough to follow suit.

TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT SAY ROBERTO LUONGO WAS A BIG REASON FOR THE CANUCKS ELIMINATION.....You're right. He had a .895 save pct. That is not even good for a back up. But I'm not sure it's all his fault. They played him 68 gm's + Olympics. What are teams doing playing goalies over 60? Do they want a short run? Out of the remaining 5 teams only the Sharks tender was busy this season, but he's been the most shaky as well.

Again, Luongo can't carry the jockstrap of any of the goalies I mentioned, and it appears he's not even in the league of rookie Antti Niemi either.

I think that he has been, and remains, a relatively high-caliber NHL goaltender, but that, at least pretty much from his entrance as a Canuck, he has been quite overhyped for quite a while amongst the media, sports analysts, the fans, etc...
Aside from that, I do believe that he, at least, has been one of the relatively upper-tier goaltenders in the NHL, although that has seemed to have been subject to some speculation as of fairly late...
